(That was at Bottom Ess Slip road, he aborted his run when his chain broke and jammed everything up.) |

He was lent the screwdriver (WWII vintage) by one of the marshals, but asking everyone around, including the Burger bar, we were unable to obtain a hammer of the traditional variety, so Brian went all caveman and used the biggest rock he could find. The result was that the chain was succesfully un-jammed from the sprocket and he was able to take his later runs.
I'm assured that rumours that he constructed a new chain using pieces of fence and a home-made hand-axe are marginally wide of the mark... |
