$39 is pretty good, but then you blow the budget by getting the $289 taxi trip to the airport

And just to let you all know that the prices are for travel in both directions, eg: Melbourne to Adelaide $39, or Adelaide to Melbourne $39, etc. Cheers!

Hmmm, sorry I'd rather pay full fare for a Qantas flight... fewer kids

Who cares about having kids on the flight if its less than half the regular price? For that kind of pricing you could almost buy 2 seats, and not have anyone sit next to you

Price isn't really an issue but if you have checked in at the valet parking, booked a car detail, strolled down from the Qantas Club 5 mins before departure time to take your seat in the front couple of rows of the plane!!!!!enjoying a few free crownies during the flight and enjoy seeing your bag waiting for you on the carosell with a little orange tag on it,is it. Should we all be writing to Mr Branagan as asking if we can borrow the MN private jet he alluded to in a post here recently?
And travelling via the Business Class and Qantas Club route is good fun if someone else is paying... otherwise it gives the American Express card a little too much work to do |

Thanks Pete.
I still prefer Qantas anyday though, but they are good prices if you can get there and back on the times you want, which never seems to work for me. |

Yeah, but isn't a part of the new Qantas business class that they'll give you an adult nappy to save you getting up and walking to the crapper?

If they were serious they would stop feeding you curry junk that starts eructations that would otherwise survive the duration of the flight!

Would that be like a baked bean breakfast? Reminds me of the time on Ansett one morning when I mistook a white piece of sausage for a pikelett....

I'm the sort of guy who you all must loath on Qantas.. I take my 2.5 year old from the Qantas Club (where she runs around like a mad woman) straight to the plane & into her own business class seat.... the way I see it, I have seen adults create more unpleasantness on an plane than any sick / whinging child....... and besides her seat costs just as much as mine does....

Its a an hour and a bit flight to Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide... who cares if you have to put up with a little noise for such a short time?? Its not as if you can seriously get into any reading, comprehension, work on the laptop, or fun on the Gameboy in that length of time...

With my job I fly almost weekly between SYD/MELB/ADEL/BRIS and we have a corporate deal with QANTAS, so it's always with the flying kangaroo. But I've also flown Virgin a few times privately and never had a problem. It's the event, not the flight over that you should be looking forward to. I'm a Sydney boy, so really, for me only the Sydney - Perth flight really drags... Syd/Melb is only an hour and Syd/Adel is only two.... The bottom line is that less than $200 bucks from Sydney to Adelaide return is dirt cheap... If you want to pay $500 or more, just so you can say you've flown QANTAS, then do it. In my view that's $300 extra that I have for accomodation, food or good old alcyhol! |

Exactly GTR. People who commute from Central Coast to Sydney CBD would have more time on their hands than a Melb-syd flyer.......
