Dunlop FF tires
Hi:
Am new to this board after recently finding it. I race a FF in the states, usually on slicks. Have ventured up for my first foray into Quebec to race on Dunlops and have a few questions: What is the vertical stiffness of these tires and how is that stiffness affected per psi of tire pressure? I suspect I"m overdamped with these tires but would like to compare to the stiffness data I have from the slicks. My first impression is that these tires don't stop anywhere near as well as the slicks we run, even though the construction is reasonably similar. The car also appears to be pretty nervous under braking. Is rear toe in the best solution to combat that? Any other advice to improve both the braking performance and stability? I understand these are also used for rains typically. What do you vary setup wise for these tires? On the slicks its damping, brake bias, ARB, tire pressure and canister pressure. Same applies with the Dunlops? My car is generally very good on full wets, usually has more grip than my experience level lets me use in the rain and would like to know what to anticipate. Thanks in advance. Tim Last edited by SwiftDB6; 14 Jun 2007 at 02:46. |

Anyone? If you'd rather not share tire insight publicly, feel free to email me directly swiftdb6 (at) gmail (dot) com.
Thanks in advance. Tim |

In the UK we don't run Slicks and Wets, so can't really help you I'm afraid.

Actually, I'm looking for advice on the Dunlop Bias Ply treaded tires, which is what I believe you run, no?

Historics run on Avon ACB9'S, same tread pattern as Dunlops but different compound. The French historic series run dunlops. You could try their website. Not sure what is is but type in ff france historic into google and something will come up.
