zetta should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
It is official. Both ATLAS F1 and the Speedvision website confirm it. Speedvision will broadcast the F1 season in the US. Live qualifying will be shown tomorrow at 9 p.m. eastern time. Life is good again.

Good scoop Zetta!

I am personally glad they got the contract instead of ABC Sports. I do not subscribe to Speedvision, but would rather see Fox's coverage than ABC Sports/ESPN. They need to concentrate on their CART and IRL coverage and do a much better job of it.

I too am most pleased that the racing guys (Speedvision) got it and that the butchers at ESPN didn't..... Harumph! Harumph!

Does this mean that Fox Sports will have the tape-delay rights ? I think I read somewhere that the two networks are associated somehow. Anybody out there know the situation ?

Media mogul Rupert Murdoch owns both and Fox Sports Net should get their standard same day coverage.

These guys used their brains when they figured out their coverage pattern. The tape delayed race literally comes on just after the live race ends and finishes up about the time NASCAR starts and well before the CART races start. It does not compete against any other form of mainstream motorsport. They should have Australia, Canada, America, and Japan races live as well. Look for Fox coverage late on Saturday night thru to early Sunday morning in North America.

Just read Roger Werner's (Speedvision CEO) press conference highlights. Speedvision has secured all live television viewing rights for F1 except the US Grand Prix. A network unamed will air the US GP. Want to bet that ABC Sports/ESPN got that one? ABC Sports has the television rights for Indianpolis sewn up for the next 7 years to go and will probably have the rights to the USGP as well. I bet it was real cheap too.

Woohoo!
Now I'm ready for the season.
Was getting quite anxious about this. The prospect of ESPN doing to F1 what they have done to CART was giving me nightmares.
The wise ones here who predicted a nail biter were spot on.
BRING IT ON!!!

YYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thats means we will get qualifing. The US Grand Prix thing is bad though. Never let a major US network cover something big, they'll have horrible coverage.
