Anorak alert- 956/962
This is from the 962 wiki, but it looks to me as if it must be 956- the 962 has 2 turbos, so 2 exhausts, right? And not in the venturi tunnel, either?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:P...9_diffuser.jpg I'm gonna say 956... I wait to be shot down. |

BANG.
That looks like an IMSA 962, which had one turbo. The 956 had twin turbos with exhausts on either side of the chassis. ![]() |

Chassis 962-119 was built for the IMSA BFG team in 1986. There's a website that details all 956/962 chassis. Can't remember its name

The site is called 962.com ..... thats a typical 962 diffuser as used in IMSA . Not specific to any particular chassis .

http://www.962.com/
Sorry , I ment to say that it was a typical 962 IMSA exhaust . The 956 and 962C both had twin turbo's and they exited just in front of the rear wheel arch . |

Actually, it is my picture. I took it at the 24 Hours of Daytona, they had several historics there. It is chassis #119, which was the BFGoodrich car, but the car was repainted in Rothmans colors and used as a Porsche show car.
I took the shot specifically because Wikipedia has no free photos of the 956 or 962's diffuser except for one I took of Dyson's DR1 (Richard Lloyd GTi #202), but that one wasn't very clear. |

aaaah! My bad. I mixed 962 and 962C. Amateur. I'll put away the anorak, for I am no longer worthy.

Also the John Jones/Dallenbach Motorcraft Mustang and the Pruett/Halsmer/Miller Merkur XR4Ti. Just take a look around the gallery, I took pictures of all the classics there. |
