Le Mans Classic 2008

Just had my camping ticket for the classic confirmed and was wondering how many of you out there will be attending.

Will be in Maison Blanche on friday sometime hopefully in a green Stag.

Sadly not for me - the moment they moved it from it's 2002 September slot to July, it became an automatic no-hoper. No chance at all of me getting to Le Mans twice in such a short period of time.

Don't forget that the Monday after the Classic is Bastille day.

I have the feeling this may affect the RN more than the autoroutes but petrol stations and bars/cafes you normally use could well be closed for the day to hang out a flag and chop the local mayors head off.

Having missed the 'real thing' this year Rupert, I particularly hope you have a good time at the Classic and we'll see you back at the tree in 2009...

I'm going for the first time. Does anyone have any advice to give on what's different from the LM24? Not the racing, but facilities etc. Can you still get in to Mulsanne and Arnage for example? Food at the circuit? Any advice is appreciated!

I didn't go to Mulsanne or Arnage when I went to the first Classic in 02, so I can't tell you, I'm afraid. Loads of food though

Food outlets seemed to be in short supply 2 years ago, it seemed like they had expected less people than actually turned up, so the queues were quite long and slow!

I went out to arnage during the night, so that's open.

I'm driving for one of the 10/10ths teams. Regular at the LM24 but never been to the classic before so don't ask me what's available!

Now where did I put that map..........

I suppose when you're clearly determined to wipe out all trace of the fact that your city was once the venue for a truly wonderful track you have to find something to replace it with.........
