Nissan GT-R at the Le Mans 24 Hours race?
I didn't find any discusssion about this topic, so I'll start it.
Does anybody know the reasons why Nissan doesn't want to homologate a GT-R for the Le Mans specs? It would be so good to see japanese manufacturers in the GT field. |

With the uncertainty over the GT future rules I can see them taking the same path as McLaren and staying off any decision until later when the rules are sorted.

And rules are sorted out: ACO rules are now FIA enforced rules, ALMS 2013 is also ACO compatible... so what's still to be sorted out? But that's not the discussion here... |

If it was THAT easy to convert to GTE then everyone would have done it. There's clearly much more too it. As for the rules. They aren't sorted out with a new supposedly unified GT class on the way from around 2015. There's a lot to be sorted out and it's naive to say rules don't come into the discussion. Aside from that after last nights announcent it seems Nissan have quite a lot ok their plate already. |

Going by the GTE Z4 vs the GT3 car, they pretty much used the suspension from the M3, the gearbox, the aero is pretty much all new, it's wider, alot of bodywork is new, it's hardly an easy transition....

It only won some races in British GT, that was with 2 essentially Pro drivers against a pro and gentleman driver....

So they achieved much more than just some wins in the local British GT... This year the same team (JRM) will race at the Blancpain Endurance Series with the brand new GTR GT3! See http://blancpain-endurance-series.co...em.php?key=464 |

how does the car not get the credit for winning the series, surely it should've won the team/constructors points aswell?

No. The GTR's drivers won the Drivers' Title, the car did not as the car that did scored more podium finishes more consistently.

So Nissan will try to enter for the garage n°56 in 2014 with a electric or hybrid new engine.
I would bet for a complete electric engine, though some of you don't agree with this perspective. Last edited by PascaLM; 26 Feb 2013 at 10:47. |

excuse my lack of knowledge in this series, but why isn't this car contesting in the FIA GT1 races? with Lucas Luhr now competing in an Endurance race in the GTR, I'd like to see them compete in our Bathurst 12 hr. |
