2019 Americas Rallycross Championship (ARX)
Not seen much on this yet, but I have just read a post from Steve Arpin on Facebook:
Facebook - Steve Arpin Racing Confirming that his team (Loenbro) will revert to the Fiesta ST for 2019. An interesting move and, perhaps I am reading too much into it, but seems like confirmation that the Fiesta is the superior platform to the Focus. |

Not sure why they are bothering, but then again the big series is hardly striding forwards!!

Foust is pulling together another season with Volkswagen and Andretti. Apparently, Volkswagen of America has changed its marketing focus to FOOTBALL but wanted to remain involved in rallycross.

Less than 2 weeks till round 1. There are 7 Supercars and 3 RX2s (with one of them only doing 3 rounds). I'm surprised that Honda haven't stepped up along with other GRC manufacturers that left. I know the reason Hyundai left was because GRC wasn't stable but IMG seem to be.
Mid Ohio course doesn't look great either. I'm going to guess they'll only have 3 rounds this year. |

May as well call it quits now. The whole series felt rushed to me last season, and I think it's still suffering from that.

14 year old in ARX(2)! They lowered the age limit to 14 this year so Gray Leadbetter can compete the whole season. That makes 4 ARX2 for round 1 with 7 supercars. Also ARX3 is a thing and will race at Mid Ohio (and I think most rounds) but no idea about the entry list size. |

Yeah, I definitely agree with the rushed element last year. If the racing is close I'll probably tune in this year, but I do wonder how long it can last with the entry numbers they are talking about at the moment.

7 Supercars but only 6 ARX2s. That 6 RX2 includes doesn't even include 2nd, 4th or 5th in the championship.

Bakkerud and Wiman to drive for Subaru in the final ARX events this year.
A tactic to deny Foust points, or a possible precursor to a World Championship campaign next year? |

I reckon it helps all involved out. Subaru get more cars to try and upset Foust and Arpin while Wiman and Bakkerud get some more seat time. Wiman especially lacking the past few years while Bakkerud can possibly learn some new stuff from his teammates and stay fresher for Cape Town.

I suspect that Monster & IMG had a fair say/few quid in Bakkerud getting there.

Season high entry in all 3 classes. 8 ARX, 9 ARX2, 8 ARX3
Keyes, Deberti and Karam are back in RX2 with 5 new faces in RX3. Only 3 quali sessions as all on one day. Subaru start Q1 in 1st, 2nd, 3rd R1 and 1st R2. |

Season finale. 8 in ARX, 8 in ARX2, only 5 in ARX3.
Foust is 17 clear so needs to finish top 6 in quali and start the semi's or just finish top 3 in quali. Battle for 2nd is Sandell, Atko and Arpin within 7 which will be close until the end of the final. Fraser McConnell has all but wrapped up the championship. Again more interesting to see who finishes 2nd out of Keats, Martell and Keyes all within 26 but Keats is only 20 ahead because he went to every round. Deberti is the only driver missing after CotA. Only 2 people have turned up to all 4 ARX3 rounds which is rubbish. They need support classes that actually have entrants. |

VW Motorsport have officially retired the Beetle:
https://volkswagen-motorsport.com/en...59dbbe35d77cb3 I wonder if there is another platform lined up to replace it? |
