Dessert [iV8SC14R33R34R35] Plus Fitness Phillip Island 400, 14-16 Nov

Second last round of the series coming up... a super fast circuit.. needing great balance and grunt.. and a reliance on keeping tyres alive on a flowing road...

Perhaps we should call this round BA... Before Ambrose... the last round of quiet before the almighty circus descends..

The championship is still up for grabs.. as remote a possibility as it may be... and FPR should be strong here...

So who's gunna win?

#36?

Question is, will Whincup take the championship after the second Saturday race or the Sunday race.

I think cars like BJR and HRT will be good here. BJR and Walkinshaw have decent chassis'. Triple Eight will be taking it easy with car #1. Wouldn't be surprised if they focus on #888 to get him into 2nd into the championship. FPR will be going hell for leather but tbh, they won't do great here.

But hey, all the focus is on the Marcos Ambrose 500 race.

Don't really think Lowndes has any chance of getting 2nd in the championship as he is struggling like Winterbottom. I'd say the Giz will take out P2.

Perhaps they shall also fumble and make driving errors at critical times as well?

Can't argue with that either. Just observing that in the last 10 laps there was not one driver who even attempted to defend when he was moving through the field, every one of them made it easy for him.

Any clue/guess as to what a late deal to name the race would cost Pure Fitness?

I think that might have had something to do with the fact that he looked a bit like an unguided missile and if anybody had argued with him, would have probably ended up "in the fence".

has anyone ever sat in the grandstands there, giving it thought as it is not too much more and includes a pit pass and a pit walk (not exactly sure what that means)

Pit walk would be the walk down down pit lane while something like the bike burnouts (**** knows if they still do that for on track entertainment) happens on track usually before a v8 session. Pit pass is normally access to the area behind the pit lane where you get a few pics with the T&A, see people wash rims, get to check out the trucks and trailers etc... Not to bad if you haven't done it before or got a virgin with you.

It should be somewhere in the region of $800k to $1m... however with the short amount of time around to leverage the participation of the new sponsor, to put the brand in the programs, to do the PR spiel to every man and his dog about the sponsor's participation... and the lateness of the entry... if it was 1/4 of that range it might be close...

The sponsor is/was on the side of Mr Elliott's Fastrack ride car for some time.. presumably that link is where Mr Russell also picked up support for their Dunlop series campaign, where he seems to have done some driver training... Interestingly according to FB the Fastrack car is being restickered in a different branding next week...

Unless I'm mistaken, isn't the title sponsor Plus Fitness, not Pure Fitness?

I see they're still messing about with NASCAR-esque signage.

Something different, I guess

I wonder if there's anything significant to read into, regarding the Red Bull can?
