Marshals Good Ideas - the sequel

Thank you to all of you who helped write our club regs for 2004.
As promised, see www.bmwrdc.com homepage 2004 BMWRDC Additional for details. (Draft Tech Regs are awaiting MSA approval, but we don't expect any problems)

If there is anything we left out, please let us know.
John

Oh dear, I've had to wipe a tear or two from my eyes after reading the new regs John

Many thanks from all of us marshals for putting in those simple instructions. I can see next years BMWDC meetings are going to be well marshalled! (We all want to see the 'sad git' strips on the windscreens )

To all your members, a very happy Christmas and a safe and enjoyable 2004.

Stephen.

Could we arrange for Alan Gow to see these regs and perhaps include them in the BTCC for 2004?

Well done

Hi John W.
Congrats on the regs, Lets hope other series in all clubs can learn from the BMWDC on how to interact with all parties. Well I wish all at BMWDC a merry Christmas and Happy new year and if any of you are coming to the ASI at the NEC come to the BMMC stand and say hello as I will be there all 4 days and it would be nice to put a face to the names.
Again many thanks for your help and am looking forward to 04 with the BMWDC.
Richard Sneader.

John,

I've only one word for it - BRILLIANT!!

Well done and thanks for listening to us.

Sheila

PS
I note you have a "cars for sale" column. Can I advertise our old Peugeot 205 GTi on it?

Thanks John to you and your committee. I'm always glad to see people with a sense of humour/proportion. Now who is going to be the first to have to find space for two sunstrips?

And if we the marshals fail to wave back, where do we display the sunstrip?

regards

Jim

Congratulations John a splendid piece of work. Precise, workable and not over the top. Having spoken to several other marshals who do not/or cannot visit these forii they are amazed that you have taken the time and initiative to introduce something so simple yet so hugely beneficial.

By the way what happens to the guilty parties of the Numb Nuts and Sad Git misdemeanours if they don't want to display the screenstrips??

A general request to the Brands fraternity could you put me in touch with a marshal called Les who has/had a dicky knee. He was greatly interested in John's regs and he wanted to view them with the aim of them being adopted/modified (subject to copyright and patent) by the MG club.

Great work John. I have just fowarded a copy to a local BMW club official, as well as some SCCA club racing marshals and stewards. You make the regs entertaining to read and worthwhile to follow.

Thanks guys, you are welcome.
I'll pass on to the rest of the drivers, not all of whom have access to 10/10.
Merry Christmas to you all. Hope we have some circuits to race on in 2004.

Chigley
Ve haff veys!

Jim
Non waving marshals could be given the paddock to organise?

Sheila
Email me details of the Peugeot and it shall be done - just for you though - we don't want to rival ebay.

Richard
I'll pass on the invitation to the drivers re the show. Our Club President, Trevor Ford, will be on the Kumho stand, so do go and see him (don't forget the deferential bow and to address him as Dubbya.)

Observer
If you show them to Gow, can I come to the meeting?

Stephen
We really are trying not to have any sad gits, but in the interests of not dissapointing you all, perhaps I'll start the year with one. Might even get some interest for the comics?

G Tanner and Ascarr - Thank you

Scott - Same to you sir.

Blueflagger - Good Luck and thanks

I should have pointed out that we are the BMW'R'DC as there is a BMW DC with different aims.

Ian - no copyright or patent - they were your ideas.

As a devout follower of Hillclimbs I feel it that this is the right place to announce my change of allegiance!!!

With regs like these how can I not show my support by marshalling???

Well done John and team for your efforts and best of luck in your future battles !!!

how can marshals earn half price tickets to the awards? (as the British and Midland Hillclimb championships do)

just an idea but we do like dressing-up in something other than orange!!!

Thanks Woolley, ditto this end.

Cheers Crazy, but don't go changing.....they'll miss you. Do both - more laughing tins!

Awards bash is detailed on www.bmwrdc.com
I'll raise the discount issue with Dubbya.

Of course, you might be lucky and win a freebie, as we donate two places (with partners) each year for the BARC to put into a draw, or some way of dishing them out.

Just need to check out this "dressing up" business. Not cross-dressing or anything similar is it?

Are you certain that this isn't the infamous Les Dickini,

Ok, ok have you been round the barmaids apron again. Something's found your humour spot. I don't know, you make a honest request for information and you get comedians. How long is the closed season? I don't know if I can survive. Can someone find John something productive to do? he's got too much spare time on his hands!!
