So... why wouldnt they run one black one and one red one...?
These images show off what seems a reasonably unattractive car Victor.. |

I think it's to support JB's brand-new Zero pre-mixes, I guess if there's two cars out there with the branding on it, it's better than one...really get the message out there.
Gotta say it's one of the worst liveries I have seen...but I guess what the sponsor wants, the sponsor gets.... PS Nice change to the topic title there, I was about to say.... Last edited by 888_Fan; 26 Sep 2007 at 04:54. |

Hi Guys, This might help a bit. This is the official design but like the rest of us, I'm yet to see it on an actual race car. Fingers crossed eh? CRIPLR Last edited by CRIPLR; 26 Sep 2007 at 06:42. |

If I remember correctly CRIPLR may have something to do with the design?

No offence to the designer, but one could now mistake it for a Jack Daniels car. The whole cola thing has got lost in there somewhere.
Two black and white bourbon teams, JDR and DJR...getting all to similar. |

Waste of good Bourbon, mixing it with Coke, anyway.
On its own over a little ice for me. As to the livery, well, this is hardly a great year for V8 Supercars - lots of very 'busy' schemes. Kramer |

I can't see why it's so crap. It's just a convential black and white car (similar to Tomas Mezera's Densitron Commodore one year) with a little red and a dash of gold, not a lime green and purple polka dot effort!
It's quite good and will look much better on the real V8 Supercar. The paint shop guys at DJR always do an awesome job. It's true that it doesn't scream Cola very much? |

I must say, it's interesting to read all of your comments even though some are not so favourable. However to me this shows that you are all very passionate about what you look at going around a circuit and I think that is a good thing. For some, this may not be your cup of tea but I'm sure once it's blazing around the Mountain it will look much better. Please also understand that there were various cost and practicality issues to tackle with this job. Two race cars and I think two promo cars needed to be re-painted in the 3 week break before Bathurst, and the two race cars have to be converted back after Indy. Many people may not realise that there is only a matter of days between the end of Indy and loading the cars on the plane to go to Bahrain, which is why you may see one of each in Bahrain. Add to that the posibility of Indy damage and you could easily have a nightmare. The whole colour balance issue was a tricky one as well. Too much red is too Holden and too much black is too Jack Daniel's. Please understand that this is about promoting Jim Beam and Zero Sugar Cola which has a substantially different label featuring more black (like Coke zero). I'm hoping that when side by side with a JDR car there will be enough white on the Beam Machine to identify it as Jim Beam. Only time will tell I guess. Go DJR at Bathurst! Cheers, CRIPLR |

To my eye it makes the car look very heavy, the combination of the white over the black from the rear door to the back of the rear quarter panel makes it look like it's got a fat bum.
I look at it from the eye of a photographer and it's ok, but it isn't special. Sorry CRIPLR, I'm not trying to offend, it's just my opinion |

I actually dont think its too bad. I do think it would look better on the race car if the race car has white wheels, rather than the silver ones seen on the plan.
It's something different, it has high contrast. The only thing I would have liked to see was black covering the entire bonnet bulge (to ensure its lines are preserved) and a bit of black from the rear (just a bit, like a flick but not much). If you want a fantastic example of bad livery, just look at 888 with the betta livery. that was yuck. |

its pretty hard to charge something by a photo, when you cant take in the whole pictre. i thought the photos on the DJR site made it look much better than the photos in the beginning thread
