Can I loan a 50?
It's the end of financial year V8 Supercar sale! Usually everyone ditches their cars at the end of the year...
Mike Imrie has put his whole team on the market, two cars, spare shell, transporter and franchise. CAT racing have their older AU and their old dog of an EL up for sale. Simons Wills has his VT on the market. Garry Holt has his primary EL up for sale. Moffat- You're a generous young fellow, mind chipping in?? |

CAT Racing are charging $250,000 for their AU, and $58,000 for their EL, but it only a rolling chassis.

That AU is way over priced, but the EL looks OK.

But the EL is an old clunker....Originally a DJR, Briggs used to race it when in SuperCheap colours for a few years there....

Yeah, the EL is old, must be three of four years old by now. I reckon the price of the AU is a little steep, considering it is an origianl AU Falcon from '99

Err Crash, the EL Falcon was released in 1996. So that car would be 5 years old at the most, unless it was an EF, they were released in 1994 and homologated for racing in 1995.

Of course David- I believe he first raced that particular car in 1997, now I htink he raced a an-ex Waldock car for some time, whether that was from DJR or not, I'm not sure.

While I'm wearing my pedantic hat, Mark you would like to borrow a 50 not loan a 50?
You get what you pay for and I still think that EL is OK value for money. $35K for a good motor and you're away, Knica series here we come. |

I'd hate to put on MY pedantantic hat, but you'd be the only competitor in the Knica series
It depends if you are serious or not, that old dog wouldn't be anywhere near the pace of the front runners. I guess if you were just wanting to be a part of it, then it would be a goer. I wonder what sort of parts inventory you would get with it?? |

Touche, but is a typo as bad as poor grammar. My dear old dead Granmma, would suggest not. I think she rated poor grammar as one step shy of blasphemy, serial killing and peadophilia.
Of course, if you were in it to win it, you wouldn't touch any EL and you'd be spending a lot more than $100K. If however, you're just like me and would be over the moon just to get out there and have a go, then that car would do just nicely. My guess, is that you get no spare parts, or maybe just some panels, cos they won't need them. |

There seem to be an awful lot of old V8 supercars sitting around in sheds. Nobody seems to bring them out to play, what a shame.
