CLK GTRs, yes plural, at auction
RM Auctions is set to offer 2 CLK-GTRs in mid-October. Both a coupe and a roadster apparently both with delivery mileage only. How could a raodster model have had so few miles when there weren't that many of them? Plus didn't the roadster have an overheating problem that burned a couple to the ground including one in LA within the last year or so? Still two of the more beautiful cars MB has ever made and wish they would have had a bigger presence in games other than PGR4.

Ive seen the advert for this auction and these two are the stars of the show, very nice cars indeed. The roadster has a custom made purple interior which mings hard, cant see it putting people off too much though.
They are meant to be collectors cars rather than road cars though, meant to be very hard to drive on the road. Do they habe dog boxes? |

Economy didn't hurt the bidding, both went for close to million US. The coupe looks pretty good even with the insert on the seats but the purple of the roadster definitely doesn't work with a car like that.

Purple interior? In a car like that???? Just goes to show money and taste don't always run together. In fact, perfect example: look at a lot of premiership footballers and the cars they drive - a bigger bunch of tasteless posers one cannot hope to find.
I hope it went to a caring home who will burn the purple and replace it with the proper stuff from MB. Unless it was originally specified from the factory like that - in which case, I'm not suprised it went for auction! The deliveree probably took 1 look and thought "Oh no! What have I done!" |
