Somebody must have forgot to mention that the Lion & Helmet logo is copy right of Walkinshaw Group and that they're planning to retire it at season end..... unless plans have been changed by those whom will be paying the bills...

Interesting to see they also trademarked "Official Factory Racing Team Of Holden" which might be more fun to see on the side of an RBHRT Insignia/Commodore... |

Not sure Red Bull would be too thrilled by that design with the front wheel covering most of the bull.

In fact the trademarks for HRT and HSV (and all the derivatives) are all owned by General Motors LLC.
The use of the names were only ever licenced to Premoso/Walkinshaw. In my opinion I don't see the cat and the hat logo being used by RBHRT while it is still associated with HSV. |

Why would the successful V8 team of 888 want to make themselves look like the inferior Walkinshaw group?

The Lion & Helmet device is intrinsically linked to HSV even if Holden own it, so I think it is right to retire it - but it does hold a lot of history. |

I know Roland and co know more about it than probably anyone else but bugger me i would hate to serve two masters as strong as GM and Red Bull and try to keep them both happy!!! The lawyers must be racking up the billable hours on the contracts!!!

Their respective marketing departments wouldn't be exactly green to this sort of thing. I'd say there'd be a lot of common ground from both parties in order to achieve the best result overall.

888 don't really need that 'racing lion', as unlike HRT, they have a full compliment of sponsors, and thus no void space which needs to be hidden.

They could put it in subtly, like FPR gradually did.

It just looks terrible.
How much were 888 getting paid for this again? They've been doing quite nicely without it so far... |
