Can I vote for Max? (they will probably fix his car and he'll win)

A lot of very good drives.
Going to give it to Stroll because he strung the weekend together very well, which he has struggled to do in the past. |

Last race we discussed whether the qualifying counted as part of a Grand Prix for the purpose of this poll. Does the out lap to the grid count?

Albon just ahead of Max.
Both drive great races for differing reasons. |

Got to give it to Lewis for a dominant performance in qualy and the race, including the couple of fastest laps to conclude with. Honourable mention to Max for out-performing the car, although binning it on the out-lap wasn't the brightest move..... And despite my bewiderment at his achieving 3rd in qualy, Stroll help it all together so kudos to him too.....

OK Lewis was incredible in the Mercedes, but after his quali and an incredible 4th i have to give it to Lance, and i never thought i would ever be giving him a driver of the race vote before this weekend,

Don’t know where that drive came from. How he managed to keep the pace up without anything going wrong with him or the car really is something from Ham

Stroll for me. Qualified brilliantly, drove a solid race to a well-deserved 4th place. Considering that his only talent is generally believed to be having a monied father, I thought he did a great job.
Max just did what Max does and as for Lewis, it was a 'stroll' in the park..... |

Hamilton. Not exciting but he and his car were on top of everything else.
Stroll had a seriously impressive qually and held on pretty well during the race. Verstappen raced well, but falling off on the drive to the grid was a bit silly. Vettel was quicker than of late, and his driving mistakes were smaller. I had high hopes for George Russell but sadly he went backwards in the race. On the other hand, Alex Albon qualified badly but climbed up quite well during the race. |

Driver of the Grand Prix for me probably Magnussen - that Haas has no business being in the points. Good call to swap to slicks (althought the call to originally be on wets was extremely odd) and he clung on as the faster cars came back at him - Grosjean went backwards much quicker. Honourable mentions for Max (once the race actually started ), Albon for a good recovery drive after the team botched qualifying, Stroll for not fading during the race and Kvyat for hanging in there in the points (and also making the early call to switch to slicks) |

Initially they opted for Wets, but as the start got ever closer it became apparent that if you were going to do something different to the field, slicks was the only viable option. Hindsight makes it look like a good call - personally I think it was just a gamble that went their way. I appreciate them trying it though - it's always better when someone tries a different approach which is still competitive. |

I think the formation lap was enough to show that slicks would work - Kvyat wanted to switch as well but the team didn't answer him (that we heard) - presumably to avoid the penalty that Haas got. It was only worth the switch for those near the back of the grid though so everyone else had to go with what they had. As you say, it's good to see people try something different rather than just taking the safe option. |

I too can understand why they did it, although these things tend to be all or nothing gambles. But this so called rule Haas have fallen foul of is ridiculous. Kvyat could have done the same thing, yet all he needed was a yes. Time to get rid of these silly little rules
