Tim Harvey man! He has the experience and still has the speed. Tom Chilton shouldn't even be in the championship, it's wrong. I'd also love to see the two Kitten MG's doing well, and they no doubt will!

What about Richard Dean in the IS200? If the car gets out im in no doubt it'll be competitive.

I'll take the Tim Harvey option I think.
Also, before this one develops, I think we've all been over the whole Tom Chilton thing more than enough in another topic and as has already been said there, lets just wait until we've all seen him racing and can actually use that to form an opinion.

Tim Harvey has the speed, but Gareth Howell has the car!

Hmm, difficult one. Harvey and Eaves have the handicap of being in a car which almost certainly won't be the class of the field but Harvey was the experience and Eaves knows the car already. Howell and Turkington will be missing the first meeting which won't help but the MG is a good car. Chilton has the best car but lacks experience at this level. They've all got good and bad points.

Reido Rules should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Tough but for me it's got to be the man second in command to Reid and that's the guy who's entertained me for a few years. It has to be Dan, if Tim can do it why not Dan h has a year with the car and is the only one on that list to have driven their car before. He showed towards the backend of last year that he ahs speed, and beating Soper on points is no mean feat. So for me it has to be him.

Good point about Eaves, with him beating Soper on points. And he does have a years experience in the car, so i think he should be up there as well now

Not underestimate Colin! Fiestas are a great trianing ground, but know they have gone
Having said that Harvey is in with a good shot. Motorsport is more than just driving fast. He's got a good relationship with the team as well as Peugeots.

So I'm going with Harvey.

This is a tough one! Harvey and Eaves have the most experience, but the young-guns will be in there too. I think it is going to be down to the car rather than the driver.

(Yay, my 1000th post - don't mind me while I have my own little party )

Right back to business - I'm going for Harvey too!

... and now we can add Slight into the equation- it'll be interesting to see how quickly he can get onto the pace- I think we've got an interesting battle shaping up here- VLR should have the consistency & experience on their side, Atomic Kitten & Barwell should have the faster car, but less experienced drivers.

And I think he will be quite a force. He is in the best car, damn near perfect. All he needs to do is keep it on the black stuff. The other top condentenders though have to be Harvey, Howell and Eaves.

I'm not so sure about slighty,i dont really think he will be on the pace that often - needs a bit of practice. He has no (4-wheel) racing experience apart from 1 race, so could be a bit of a hazard when overtaking!!

1 BTCC race true, but he's done ASCAR, Australian TC and a few other races as well.

I would have to say that Eaves or Harvey are the guys I'll be rooting for. Those two are the most experienced pairing in the Independent's class and they should perform well. I also think that VLM has been doing a lot of testing with those cars and they should be on the pace at Brands.

but remember, Harvey has never even been in the car, and everyone is saying the VLR have an advantage because they have set up data, but Barwell and team A.T will also have data (not as detailed, sure) from the factory. They wont get the data they ar using this year, but will definatly get some from last year.

I would love to see Dan Eaves win it but I have doubts about the reliability of the car. I have gone for Tim Harvey, but there are some ambitious young 'uns out there. Tricky. I'll hold reservations on Aaron (I still can't out of my head what he did to that Honda at the Tourist Trophy at Donington a few years back!)

I haven't seen the Tom Chilton thread yet so I'll hold back on any discussion on him

It's between the MG boys I think. I went for Howell, but I'm not really sure why...

Barwell might not have the best drivers (might not?!?! definatly dont), but i think one of them could win purely because of the car they have. Its a proven winner, more than can be said than the others. If i had my way, I would love to see Tim win it because I think he deserves it!
