To be fair, it seems he hit some, er, wildlife!. Anyway the times: Silverstone, day 3 (unofficial) Pos Driver Chassis-engine Tyres Time Laps 1 Heinz-Harald Frentzen Sauber B 1m21.648s 2 Giancarlo Fisichella Jordan-Honda B 1m21.890s 3 Fernando Alonso Renault M 1m23.249s 107 4 Oliver Gavin Renault 1m24.781s 24 so maybe the seat isn't too much of a problem? Disclaimer: It's only testing. |

Yup, and yesterday, Button handed in a sick note or something, feeling 'dizzy'.

Why are you all so concerned about drivers having 'offs'? it's all part of the racing business! If they didn't want drivers to go off...they would erect walls or add more tarmac! Speed is the name of the game! 'offs' are part of the game...all F1 drivers have off's!...the best ones just do it less often!

From www.daily-f1.com :
Frentzen completed 71-laps of testing at Silverstone yesterday before suffering a massive accident after hitting a stray rabbit and losing control of his Sauber. Today Frentzen has been declared fit to drive in the penultimate race of the season, despite being briefly knocked unconscious following the impact. Jest a thought - if a driver was confronted with hitting a rabbit, which part of the car should he aim to hit it with? Over here, if you were confronted with a rabbit, well you just run right over it. If you were confronted with a Roo, you start to pray. If you were confronted by a cow, as I was once going flat strap on a transmission line access track, well, your mind seems to go blank. I hit the anchors and the cow jumped out of the way. Closest I ever went to meeting St Peter.

Someone hit a hare earlier this year, during practice. James Allen informed us that a hare was "like a big rabbit". Cheers.
