R.I.P Bob Tindal
Yesterday noted Sport Sedan Racer & Engineer Bob Tindal passed away.
Bob for many years ran the awsome Alcair VL Walkinshaw Sports Sedan and was a prominent feature of the old Amscar series at Amaroo Park. Of late he had prepared the Alcair V8 Supercar and Ric Shaws Konica car. Can't say that I knew Bob, but I know people who did and thought very highly of him. |

One minute silence
Richard the Motorsport Chaplain gathered a bunch of drivers together and said a few words at the HSRCA meeting at Wakefield Park. The minutes silence was announced over the PA and everything stopped out of respect.

Very sad news indeed. As a kid, I use to love watching Bob Tindal battle it out with the likes of Barry Jameson in the sports sedans at Amaroo Park. That VL of his certainly added some spark to the series.
Australian motorsport has lost another great ambassador. May you rest in peace Bob... |

Sad news to hear. That VL was a real weapon. From memory, he also got permission to take moulds off of the new TWR Group A Commodore for the fibreglass bodywork of the Sports Sedan. I liked how Tindal's Sports Sedan made its race debut the best part of two months before the Group A car was even homologated - after TWR had problems producing the fibreglass bits...
