Penske Visit

Roger Penske still owns Penske Cars in Poole, Dorset and also has other business interests in the UK (is he still a partner in Ilmor) is there something called Penske Logistics still going?

Penske is entering Junkyard Wars. During his episode, the task is to turn an IRL car into a race car that requires skill to drive. Yeah right, good luck! LOL!

They invited a CART team to participate too but the team was only prepared to enter if every team was given the same car and the same engine to put together.

Paul Tracy entered but pulled out after discovering that the goal was NOT taking a functional piece of machinery and turn it in to a pile of debris in the Junkyard but the other way around.

Just kidding of course! All in fun as I thought the other guys post was pretty witty.

BTW - Penske's NASCAR and IRL teams are involved in an episode of Junkyard Wars. Should be fun.

gofastturnleft, I like it! The names Tracy and Scheckter are interchangeable in that comment. Except Tracy is a free spirit and Scheckter is a puppet.

Back to my first posting-Penske Racing's private jet actually called today from New York (19th)to drop some passengers off at London Biggin Hill Airport-which is only 13 minutes to Brands Hatch! I'm just putting 2 & 2 together - you never know!

The IRL is concerned that Falcon Cars won't live up it's 3 year deal and Penske may pick up their supply deal to the IRL if Falcon goes under, so Roger is over taking care of business.

Sounds reasonable Snout, After all, when Penske was building his own cars the factory was in England so it is not like he hasn't done this before.

Very creative I must say. I'd add that it is also completely wrong but that would be off topic.

I'm sure Penske has no interest in chassis manufacture at all, and that teams are lining up for the new Falcon. Can you say Riley&Scott.

One thing I read the other evening was that Patrick racing were going to set up a shop in Poole, near Penske back in 1990 when they were running Penskes themsekves. Did that ever get off the ground?

have you ever seen Roger wanting something and not getting it? buying Falcon Cars makes sense, as he bought out the same guy in nascar when Jeremy Mayfield was driving for the both of them.
