Gil's No. 1!!!!
For this week, anyway. ![]() Yes it was pretty dull. But the results were right, so ... I can't complain. Well raced all, including even Tags this week. |

"Pretty dull" is the understatement of the season, Liz. Wish Juan Pablo had been in the thick of it more.
Can someone explain Newman-Haas fuel strategy to me? I'm sure Mikey would love to know. |

Congratulations liz, your beloved Gil has finally reached the top, you must be happy about this, and I think at this moment he deserves to be the new champion.

Exactly - he's No. 1 this week but he's smart enough to know that's this week.
He's also smart enough to settle for second if his rivals are well behind him. But I wish he would stop those daringly dangerous moves on the way out of the pits. P.S. Maybe Newman-Haas don't care what Mikey does now that he's quit their team? That's the only explanation I can offer for the "fuel strategy" they seem to be setting by a flip of a coin or a dart board. |

I think "a flip of a coin or a dart board" is much too sophisticated for what's been going on.

What happened to my Paul and my Memo? Ok, I'll never go for Memo again, and let him get back in the points....but Paul...I think I'll be putting the kiss of death on Paul by picking him no. 1 in the tipping comp

i replied to the newman haas thing last night, but failed to press submit before my dad chucked me off the computer.
they were anticipating that there would not be another yellow, and it was a fair gamble. the drivers might have done better had they not been suffering from a bout of flu. apparently, from brazil. best excuse i've heard. oh, and there's some bloke called gil at the top of the points. hey, doesn't liz like him? ![]() let's hope he wins. much rather him than mikey. and a thught for you all. if newman haas sign da matta. we're going to have a name crisis on our hands. wonder if there's ever been a case of a team employing two drivers with (damn near) the same name? anyone who's english might remember little and large.... |

Fittipaldi and da Matta sounds like a Law Firm.
Suffering from the flu, were they? My granny called that kind of convenient flu the "Never Get Overs" and if it makes Some People stay in 15th place for the rest of the season, well, I don't mind that at all. ![]() On to the next race. PENSKE POWER! |
