Plum Pudding Meeting at Mallory
I'm pleased to say that we have had our first entry for the Plum Pudding meeting. Are the rest of you planning on joining in?
Caterhams and Single Seaters up to 2000cc are more than welcome to join in the fun. Check the BARC website for more details. Sheila |

How about making the single seater race a 750 MC F4 vs Monoposto Racing Club challenge.

Andy97, that would be a Jonathan v Chris Lewis prizefight then... Somehow I suspect that most competitors are outvoted by families when it comes to going racing on Boxing day.

Even so, each championship can surely provide a handful and the hundreds of FF1600 competitors can provide enough to fill a grid of 28, surely. This was one of the best events I attended in 2003 - I'm sure this year can be even better.

I have received an entry form via the Monoposto Racing Club and am considering it (and the family implications) but I was alittle surprised to see that the event is open to single seaters "up to 2.5 litres". There was no mention of classes either.

There's not too many single-seaters of more than two litres so that won't be an issue. I imagine classes may be decided on entries received?

Can we guarantee yesterday's Mallory weather on Boxing Day?
Last time I was at a Boxing Day Mallory - a few years ago - it was freezing cold. Not much of a surprise in this country though. When I was younger, a friend of mine entered his Mini for a Boxing Day meeting and off we trolled down the M6 and it started snowing. Down the A5 it got heavier and deeper and Rob - for that was his name - was struggling to control the trailer, which was hell bent on going in front of the tow car.. Kirby Mallory was just about cut off. We got there though. Believe it or not, we were gobsmacked when we found out the meeting had been called off. Ah, the innocence [stupidity] of youth. |

Well, you guys are clued up - no need for me to don the BARC Mids Press Officer hat here!
We have made a tentative advance booking on the weather - but the agencies concerned won't guarantee that they can supply the sunshine and warm weather this far in advance! |
