Problems with NASCAR Racing 2003 (PC)

I have been trying for ages now but I have been suffering problems with NASCAR 2003 when I load the game it's okay but when I go to race at paticular circuits it just shuts off and gos on to the desk top I have tried everything but it just keeps on Crashing does anyone no a soultion?

Have you got the latest patch???? Or, maybe, you should install better graphic drivers...

And BTW, are you suffering any kind of problems with other games????

I had a problem like this does it CTD when you go to the pits to drive the car? If so turn down the number of cars shown and also turn down the sound option.

I think thats how i cured it.

You might find it CTD when you pit during practice or race that happened to me also.

Thanks guys, it's starting to work again but it's still cutting out a bit but at least when I crash there's no problem. I'm gonna do the rest of the windows updates that I need to do and there os a few graphics downloads to do so that should help.

Have you installed Service Pack 2 for windows xp? Microsoft have acknowledge this game can behave strangly once installed.

heres a strange problem. My computer has something called multi channel sound manager in the control panel and when i go on NASCAR it changes the sound type to 'quarry' I then always alt tab and change it back.

Does anyone know about this software and how to stop it doing that?

Don't mean to be nit picky, but that link states that a) SP2 hasn't been released yet, and b) it's a problem with the new in-built fiewall, which to solve all you need to do is disable it. I reckon it will only affect the multiplayer aspect, and not what luke is talking about.
Certainly sounds like a driver issue. #
Also have you tried uninstalling and re-installing the game? (Copy your whole player folder if you want ot save any setups you created) It could be that the game has some corupted data in the install somehow.

Year I have I've had it since may 2003 and have been installing and uninstalling a few times. I regestered and did the updates. Because I havn't played on the game since I thinl last year it's back to were it was but it's starting to crash again. But I think I have a good idea of what needs doing. When I installed the demo of Toca Race Driver 2 that had similar problems and the error reporter told me to that I had to do an update on Wondows Upadate so I think that may solve it when I get round to doing next week.
