Hmmmm, quite a tricky one this

At the moment it's hard to know who's going to be running in which championship/series so I could get things wildly wrong (no change there). I'll have to have a think about this.............

I think this year will be very interesting with lots of new machinery for this year.

I think the key things to watch in the supercars will be doran in the new fiesta and also JMS's new xsara. Can they break dermots grip on the class?

Supermods, i would say Dave Bellerby in his new motor are going to be the benchmark to catch.

Stockhatch I wouldn't like to say as some of the usual suspects are not on the entry list for croft so it's too early to say who's racing this year.

At the moment it's hard to know who's going to be running in which championship/series so I could get things wildly wrong (no change there).

And apart from what championship Bert there's the small matter of who and in what
For Instance :

Gallop: Will the car make a apeerance with him or someone else and will it hold together

Carnigie: Was it his last year doing the British ?

Tracey: Will he use the 6R4 or 306 and who will he hire it out to?

Evans: Will the car be on the pace out of the box (Knowing Bardy it probably will be)

Doran: As above really

Holfeld: A return to racing across the water in RSS ?

McCluskey: Car will definatley be up to scratch so will it be JMC year ?

Gibson: anybody heard if he will be out ?

Also maybe the euro rules will bring the one or to Scoobies more to the front of the field.

Modified

Bellerby: Will the car be able to stay in a sraight line with a proposed 500bhp ?

Dresser: Lotus for sale last I heard (20k would but I was told)

Seller: Not much last year but have heard there has been some changes that may make it more competitive this year

Micra: "you can in a Nissan" Will someone buy most expensive shopping cart ever and blow all into the weeds again?

Could go on for long time about more modifieds,Mini and stock hatch but fingures are now siezing up so I will leave some of you to finish with some more questions and anwsers.

500bhp?! surely not

I'll pick up the baton for BTRDA stocks here..

Green: Last year was a great year for him and with horsleys saxo can anyone stop him??

White: Had a good finish to last year and definatelly on the pace, one to watch

Heppy (aka Mr smooth): He never makes a mistake and is very consistant..

Phil: Words alone are not enough

Dave ewin: Always one to watch in "less than perfect" conditions

Paul pascoe: Again lots of pace in the events i have seen him in, one to watch

Ric horton: Lots of potential and certainly out to prove a point this year.

Si horton ( ): Promising performance if he can keep the car on it's wheels, should be interesting with the new car.

Also a couple of newbies to watch are Bryan Armstrong & Pete Griffith.

Have to say I am amazed more people haven't gone for Turbo/super charged cars in the past. Surely it's cheaper to do this than to modify a Naturally aspirated engine?.

And to think a few years ago a 1.6 Vauxhall engine was enough to win!

So how much do we guesstimate the top Super Modified drivers are spending on a car these days?

Reason turbo rwd cars arn't popular is that that they don't work. Yes the Volvo's are good at Croft but at a shorter track like the old brands or lydden not sure. Bill Harbour's escort is close to 400bhp but it just wheel spins and get's ****ed by cars half the power. I heard Bellerby's car had a rear transaxle which would help as the is weight over the rear wheels. But its nice to see different vehicles out. Still think Newbolds Renault would beat all the current modified cars including the Micra. Trying to think when Newbold built the Renault, 1985?

I was talking to one super mod driver last year he was thinking about getting a 2.0 ltr built and was quoted 20k for the engine build alone.

I'm not sure about that, yes it was quick off the line and nearly always left a certain Mr Bardy on the line spinning the wheels of his 2 litre Astra, but by the end of the first lap he'd normally caught up.
Those two cars along with Martin Tinkers Nova could probably be in the mix now but as for beating them I'm not sure.

Nittymaki has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
This year is so hard to predict due to so many new car and new series's and championships.
The hardest one to call at the moment is the BRC and BTRDA due to lack of info coming on who is competing in each and so much uncertainty to whether the BRC will actually happn especially based on the letter i received on friday still saying that unless they get 65 cars minimum to each event then they may pospone certain events or the BRC altogether.

In terms of the RSS then this is slightly easier due to info I have recieved and info that has been n the RSS site recently.

Division 1 ll will be a great class with new cars from Manning and Anson joining the likes of Bell, Holfeld, McCluskey, Evans, McCann plus many more.My tip is on McCluskey this year.
Division 1a will be good a new class this season which has already seen new drivers register and also junior driver Jason Pritchard moving up in his Peugeot 106Maxi. Add this in with the likes of Paul Wakeling, Dave Ward, Jonny Greer and you have a good class.Dave Ward's Gotta be favourite.
Division 2 should be strong also with a host of new cars on the horizon.Think a European driver will take this clas this year!!
Supernational should have all the usual suspects plus new cars from Jamie Bird, Andy Winch, Mark Watson, Dave Phillipson, Asa Fatchett, just to name a few. Gordon Rogers is my tip here.
Juniors Idol will be strong this year my tip here is Kyle Orr in his final year in the class before he moves up to Division 1a, he has the ex Jonnny Greer car.
Stockhatch is a difficult one to call with so many new cars but I would say Rodney Green and Simon White will be strongest.
Minicross Matt Roach is my tip here for glory.

With all of the above and interest from Europe and Ireland strong the season does look bright with RSS and Mda.

I have spoken to Simon White, he is not entered to do the Superseries and I doubt that Rodney is either. So we all have to wait and see who is doing the RSS befro we can say anything.

Minicross424 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Okay im going to just pick who i think will be the best in the class this year no matter what series:
Minicross: Danny Budd is my tip for the top, the only one to give john binks a run for his money last year. John i hear is not racing.
Stockhatch: Rodney Green. Saxo, big bang for bucks.
Supermodified: Tricky. Dave B proberly, but for a dark horse Terry Moores 2.3 Duratec Puma.
Supercars: Doran, with the ex ford works team its got to be mustard.

I was thinking along the lines of Bellerby and Doran for their respective class titles but will the new cars be reliable and on the pace straight away? Both classes should be really tight this year and new car teething troubles could just make the difference.

Hi TWIGLET
It makes you wonder where some people get their information from. Had it been just a prediction OK but to say you had signed up to the RSS, naughty.

I'm not supposed to have favourites, but here's who I think will do well (in all series):

Supercar - Dermot (consistency to pay off).

SuperMod - Hardest to call, but between, Des Wheatley, Alan Tapscott, Michael Boak and Micky Sellar. Watch out too for Super 1600 cars rumoured to be coming out.

Stock Hatch - Rodney Green with Julian Godfrey, and Derek Holland chasing. (Simon White and Jamie Lea to trouble the front of the grid when/if racing)

Minis - Danny and Ralph Budd.

Juniors - Kyle Orr and Robert Gaffney being the men to beat.
