Dino Morelli?
What happened to Dino Morelli?
Is he still racing in the US or is he back in Ireland now? |

I don't think he ever raced in the US, but I may be wrong.

Thanks for you reply...
I found this ''Dino Morelli's Web Site - Welcome to my new website in which I would like to outline my plans to compete in the 1999 Indy Lights Championship in the USA. I am one of Britain's most successful young racing drivers having raced in many national and international championships since 1991 winning several titles and awards. I have now been presented with the opportunity to race in the states which is an ambition that I have had for quite some time.'' at http://www.globalgateway.com/fetch-s...p?category=197 But http://www.dinomorelli.com isn't registered anymore? Has he retired? |

Ah.
As far as I know, that didn't happen. I think he may have been knocking around sportscars of late. |

last i seen him he made a small comeback to f3000 for a couple of races around 2002. i was aware at that time that it was his first competative driving since the 1997 horror shunt but i dont think the crash would have kept him out that long....

Lack of money was the problem, most likely.

Yes, he did a couple of F3000 races for Astromega in 2001 after Ananda Mikola left the team, but then was replaced by, I think, Toccacelo. Haven't seen anything of him since.

And don't forget he was British F3000 champion in 1997.
(Jon will understand why that's not such a big deal) |

Only one race ever took place, as I recall, with three cars on the grid.
Morelli, Rodriguez, and Tommy Field (whoever he is). |

Possibly the smallest gird ever in a UK race? Brought the safety car out halfway thru to try and make it exciting (!?!) Tommy Field was a FFord driver, think he does seem engineering now

It was certainly the smallest grid in a race that high profile.
Frankly, I think they were being very optimistic thinking that bringing the safety car out would make a three car race more exciting... in fact, I think by the time it came out Field had already retired. |

Wasn't that Venson? Sounds just like 'superfund' to me.
