Nextel All-Star Challenge

On Saturday, NASCAR celebrates its All-Star week at the Lowe’s Motor Speedway with the Nextel All-Star Challenge. It will gather the weekly race champions from the last 16 months, as well as former All-Star winners, for a 90-lap night race shootout. The winner takes home more than $1 million. Eight times in its history, the All-Star winner has gone on to capture the series championship. The last to accomplish the feat was Jeff Gordon in 2001.
