Corvette differances

Does anyone know the technical differances between the GL-PK C5R and the SRT C5R ?

gsmith2424 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Main difference is that the GLPK car is an 04 chassis (10 or 11?) and the SRT car was a fresh chassis (7) bought by the team back at the start of 04 and was never raced by the factory team. But i am not sure that the SRT car has been upgraded to latest spec.

So it is a Pratt & miller chassis then ?

Under the surface , whats the differance , with respect to the differant championship rules ?

Are SRT allowed all the trick bits that the works cars have or are they de-modded first ?

It is eligable for FIA GT, and it was entered in the GT1 class of the Spa 24hrs if you remember, not the G1 class.

GT1 is part of G1 , it think you mean G2

on topic: the SRT vette is 2002 spec, and it is Pratt & Millar. Gary Pratt was in fact following the Corvette in Spa, during the Spa Euro Race for the belcar championship.

the GLPK vette is from last year, and I believe it is the car that won Le Mans last year.

No, I meant GT1 and the car is classifed as a GT1 car in the overall results. There is too however a G2 class where GT1 and GT2 cars can race, normally a class for cars from National championships to race in, such as the Force One Viper that did so this year, and to FIA GT1 regulations.

That would be my guess. That, and sponsors whose primary interest and market may be Belgium.

FIA GT seams not be interesting for them. They had a eye on LMES eralier this year, but decided than for BELCAR and some rounds of French GT, so their schedule is really busy.

I've read somewhere that this particular chassis came second in the GTS class at the 2004 Le Mans race. The 2004 class winning car is sitting somewhere in a museum

That´s correct. It´s the chassis # 011 which is used by GLPK.
