Perhaps we could give him a cryptic clue, so he learns how to research things rather than just asking?

I have a seagull in mind ....

Sorry, I don't get the clue.

I was thinking about Silverstone 1973: 29 starters first time and 18 starters next time, which makes 62%....

So what has this strangled seagull to do with it? I would think that the only multiple champs participating were Lauda and Hill, but both weren't involved in the crash. I understand that Lauda broke down prior to the start, but his car was repaired before the restart.

The seagull refers to the driver who caused it. The multiple champ was on the grid a number of times...until the restart...

Sorry Ensign,

Still do not get the clue. Didn't know Scheckter was into birds. I am a bit too young to know the exact ins and outs of F1 in the seventies. Andretti was my favorite driver then.

Scheckter's nickname was "Fletcher". Named after a character in Richard Bach's aspirational bestseller Jonathan Livingstone Seagull. He kept crashing, you see ....

And just to complete the picture, the multiple champ was John Surtees who became apoplectic because the accident had wiped out all three of his cars.

Now, Jopp was this a quiz qiestion of have my learned friends got it wrong?

He was not a happy chappie and was after Scheckters blood. He was running on very little money at the time and though he carried on for a few years it was, perhaps the beginning of the end.
