Nearly 3700 posts in the 2018 "Talking ********" thread, here's my contribution to help get the 2019 version off to a flying start.
Healthy and prosperous New Year everyone. Let's hope motor sport survives the icy winds of misery and gloom blowing around the globe - I'm sure it will. And if not, then thank goodness for YouTube reminding us just why we all came together in the first place. In passing, ISTR some years back when the equivalent thread nearly fell over after 2000/2500 posts. Thanks in a big way are due to MagnetOn for keeping our favourite tea break going. Getting ready for the charity swim in the sea today, at least the weather is brilliant with full sun and blue sky. However I am only filming it from the beach whist my other half hopefully will be in the actual water with the rest of the "nutters" filming from there. That's if I can get her out of bed after last night !!!!!!

Ah, just discovered the new thread, having been somewhat pre-occupied with other things...
Bonne Annee & Happy New Year to everyone! The past few weeks have been pretty grim, so things can only get better, as an infamous politician even more infamously said. |

Best wishes for the New Year everyone.
I spotted a recipe that included croissant a few days ago and decided it was probably necessary to try it out. See pic. Crispy Smoked bacon, banana and then lightly 'fried' to warm it up. Add Maple syrup to taste but not having any to hand I used honey. Very nice and very filling. Would make a perfect start to a Delta day. Had expected to need 2 but one was enough - though another rasher of bacon and the rest of the very ripe banana were swiftly fried and consumed rather than end up in the bin. Mr. Gove and his new food waste person would be proud of me. |

Will, I suspect in situations like that there is little choice available. You can't leave the corpse to rot - the Conservancy Centre would be finished if they let that happen. They maybe finished anyway but ... Once the animal has killed the chances are it would try to do it again, so it most probably needs to leave the zoo (or indeed any zoo) and go back to the wild. Assuming it came from the wild. It would probably be very unprepared for that sort of change and may already be too old to have any chance of survival. As for Polar bears ... nasty, vicious creatures that eat their cubs and murder cute seals. |

With Waitrose as a sponsor I'd expect the pies at the Mad-jet ski stadium to be very good. Venison and port, short crust, red squirrel satay, lobster mayo sarnies and the like.

Ah 2018, the year that kept on kicking back. I heard today that my late father's cousin died on Christmas Day - it's OK, we weren't close, I'd only met him a handful of times in my life.
However, Brian Tyler may have been known to some of the inhabitants of this board - he was a historic racing car dealer in South Africa. He wrote a book on the history of the LDS Formula cars. Quite a bloke all in all. |
