Best/Worst Paint Schemes on a tourer...
Hey all
I saw a similar thread on the V8 supercars part of the site, any theories on the best and also worst liveries ever to appear on a touring car? Please not too many V8 entries as there is already a thread for this, but any ideas for supertourers, BTC spec, S2000, DTM etc etc? One of the most boring liveries has to be Clelands 94 entry....just looks like a grey day on wheels.... I have always liked this one though: I think all works BMWs from then in the BTCC looked great. Over to you guys, any ideas/opionions.......must be loads of the latter.... Simon |

One of my favourites has to be the Peugeot 406 from 1996. So simple, yet elegant.
From www.timlaw.supanet.com/peugeothistory.htm The 97/98 liveries are a different story however! |

Again quite nice, very simple as you say, good from marketing perspective as well.
Any hideous ones? Perhaps some of our international contributors could suggest some horrors or beauties from there domestic series! |

best touring car ever - and a great livery. Not the worst, but he must've hated it: Timo Scheider's "Woman" Opel Vectra: http://www.viewimages.com/Search.asp...partner=Google |

Hmm the Orange wheels are an intresting choice.
"Hey, boss, we got some Orange paint left, Repsol say we gotta use the whole tin, where should i put it?" "the wheels?" ".......................good choice." |

Bit of a weird one, but I always found Patrick Watts' 93 Mazda fun to watch - kind of a rhubarb and custard on wheels.
http://www.mazdaxedos6.com/brochures...rick_Watts.jpg Aiello's DTC Peugeot -actually, most of the Peugeots, looked good http://www.forocompeticion.com/galer.../10022/341.jpg Randomly, does anyone remember a Repsol sponsored Nissan Primera racing in Spanish Touring Car in 1995? You can't beat the Texaco Sierras either and I had a soft spot for the 98 BTCC Primera and Mondeo too As for the worst, anything red and white because its used everywhere! - actually anything by Vauxhall when they dropped white and yellow. |

Great for the 'Family Look', 'brand cohesion' and all that b*llocks... b*gger all use for fans in grandstands or hapless TV commentators, who'd just LOVE to know which multi-coloured flash just speared into the undergrowth / barriers / car in front of it but who are denied the opportunity because the 'individual signatures' of the cars are only detectable with a scanning electron microscope and then only when stationary in a well-lit pit garage... |

Hahaha, I smell some frustration there Martin
At least at BMW you can see it from the driving: - Tight driving / front of the pack: Priaulx - Clinched with another car / front of the pack: Farfus - Tight driving / middle of the pack: Muller - Clinched with another car / middle of the pack: Zanardi - The one you don't see: Porteiro |

For a great livery:
http://www.stillphotography.co.uk/ga.../mg_9.jpg.html love that one. Just really MG, and made the car look so cool. for a crap one: http://www.stillphotography.co.uk/ga...MG_12.jpg.html Just really dull. I thought the point was to show people that there were no sponsors, but it didnt improve when sureterm came along. Sorry, but i dont know how to put pics in this. Or links. Oh I've messed this up.
