I checked this bit: AutoAction.com.au
This bit is problematic for accuracy, but we will see! Good news if true! "For example, the Mustang – like the Chevrolet Camaro and Nissan GT-R – will need a modified and raised roof profile to meet the minimum height requirement." This will look dreadful. Let's hope they lower the rollcage instead. |

The real challenge is the optics... the 2 door sports car, the hero car of the range, up against what has to be said, on road at least, is a workaday family hatchback...
When the best team in the land keeps beating the sports car in their family truckster, will Ford rue the decision? |

But seriously: 1) rules do allow such things and if Ford really made that decision they have to be fully aware of the possibility of losing with Opel Insignia 2) I won't believe it until I see an official confirmation, sounds too beautiful to me to be true |

This is great news, but we heard it last year, so will wait for an official announcement. tomorrow.

This can only be good news for all the Ford teams at least. Progress into a new model and updated aero package.
Definitely looking forward to the release of this car if its all true. |

Good news IF this is true, really good news. Let's wait and see what happens re announcement tomorrow.
IF this story is true, to me it makes a really big difference to the dynamic of Supercars overall. Some have spoken of the series being virtually "dead" as Ford aren't interested and Holden is struggling in the retail market, doubts over Nissan's commitment. IF Ford support the Moostang competing, that's a big change to that dynamic and one that would guarantee Holden's focus on the series. Also, IF the Mustang is going to run a V8, it could well lead to the category sticking with that type of power plant. This type of thing can sometimes be a watershed moment and IF the story is true and it all gets announced tomorrow, I can't see it as anything other than a really good indicator for VASA. |

Holden have glitched for 2 months, and obviously need to recover, their best seller is the colarsdo now, so will have to see what happens |

Holden/GM will virtually be forced to bring the Camaro into the series in my mind if the Muzzie comes to fruition. By doing so it might just save the Holden fan from being disappointed at the lack of a hero car, and drive their sales. Pity it won't be an Aussie car, but we can't have everything. The bogans have been putting Chev badges on their Holdens for years anyway. |

Is it a bad sign that that Auto Action link is dead now, or was an embargo broken?

FoMoCo already have an Ecoboost V6 ready to go, currently used in the GT GTE car. Using that would give a headstart on development that might get the car over the line for the start of next year's season.

Maybe but the V8 falls into the ready to go category too. Would save massively on development costs plus is market relevant and reduces parity issues.
