[VASC17R19] Wilson Security Sandown 500: 15-17 Sep
The season of endurance is upon us.
The first round, the Sandown 500, is first up 26 cars, 52 drivers, 3 brands. Will DJRTP show its outright pace across the whole event? Will 888 bring its strategy excellence into play? Will BJR be a wildcard? Will prodrive get one of their four cars competitive across a whole weekend? Lots of questions... only answered one cool afternoon in September |

Who will be the poor sod to jam it into the fence off the back straight this year?
This is an event where PRA defies the form guide and pulls one out of the bag one way or another. I suspect the usual 4 or 5 cars will be at the pointy end for the most part. |

I am curious who will be in the 4th seat at LDM. I guess it isn't Thursday of race week..

Only Mr Rullo and Mr A. Davison are confirmed at this stage.
Will Mr Douglas be free that weekend? Will Mr Russell extract the necessary sheckles from Plus Fitness? Perhaps Mr Chadha will get a turn? |

As a former graphic designer, seeing some of the retro-liveries adapted on to modern bodywork is pretty awesome to see. (Recently brought a Red Bull retro shirt from impulse as it had an old Caltex logo and felt nostalgic of the old Ampol/Caltex that was around the corner from my old childhood home in western QLD) I wonder besides Red Bull HRT who else would get into the spirit. Everyone seemed to enjoy it last year.

Side note, thanks to the retro-round and said retro Red Bull/Caltex stuff, just re-connected to family friends who ran the Ampol/Caltex I talked about in my last post. (Who I haven't heard from in nearly 20 years)

Great to see a strong pink erection. It'll make for some obvious jokes if it's at the rear of the field and has to come from behind.

Time this round was rescheduled to take advantage of the bye round of AFL footy now in its 2nd year & appearing to be a fixture going forward.
The horses are at Caulfield so Sandown is free (?). More bums on seats.... |

Wasn't too pleased how they advertised it on Facebook as "Brock Tribute" as many would assume it's our Peter Brock, not an American guy who had a longtime history with Nissan/Datsun who has the same name.

I remember making a Datsun 510 model with that colour scheme many moons ago. |
