The Alonso blocking/penalty thread (AKA The rage is on !) [MERGED]
Beautiful. That's what happens when you expect team mates to be nice. McLaren have another Prost/Senna problem - awesome!

Yep,
Can't beat him on the track so use any other means. If Lewis takes that view he'll be ok. |

Alonso will beat Hamiliton to the 07 title. Lewis has not got the agggression that is required to be a Championship winner at the moment - next year maybe

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Lewis-Hamilt...7032385&sr=8-2 The synopsis reads "Lewis Hamilton crowned his 2007 debut season by winning the title in Japan in October ... It was an outcome no one seriously could have predicted". Perhaps Frank wasn't being serious ..... Last edited by Mission; 13 Aug 2007 at 19:36. |

Alonso was very clever? Perhaps, he was also very cheap though. IMO.

Let's not forget that young Lewis started it all by steadfastly refusing to adhere to the agreement that Alonso would be allowed out first since he had a lighter fuel load.
Hamilton was let go first because 'his engine was the first to reach optimum temperature', apparently. Huh? Merc have just spent zillions developing an engine which can sit and tick over till hell freezes over (which enabled Hamilton to re-join the European GP at the Ring...). It's all good stuff, though. I wonder how many times Ron has been told to 'swivel' by one of his drivers --a protege and number two to boot? Sets the tone for contract/retainer negotiations for '09, I'd have thought. Roll on the next installment. |

CHEAP? Man, that really stinks. I don't see that as clever at all. |

Yeah, good thinking by Alonso IMO.
Not going to help inter-team relations I dont think, but Alonso is in it for himself, as is Hamilton. Quote:

As long as they view it as on track rivalry, but it was a cheap shot wasn't it?
A shame really because it devalues Alonso's stock in my eyes (not that that is important). |

If Alonso really did this deliberately (and the data will show if there was a problem) Ron is going to be really really upset. Things are bad enough with the Ferrari debacle at the moment without them doing this within the team.
Odds on Ron sacking him? Extreme perhaps but who knows.... |

Oh man, can't wait to see how Ron's going to react to this one. Great stuff Alonso, for entertainments sake if nothing else.

It was certainly slightly underhand. But it really stokes things up for tomorrow.

I don't think anything really needs stoking up.

No, more than slightly Knowlesy, if he did do it deliberately (and Ron clearly thinks so), it was done to ensure that a team mate couldn't get another lap in. I agree with Peter, it devalues Alonso's stock substantially for me.

I like both drivers and it made me chuckle a bit so I don't know... Lewis is clearly in no doubt what happened. I wonder now if McLaren will now favour Lewis strategy wise tomorrow to compensate? |
