Some new pics of the Dunlop bridge have been posted on masion blanche's site.

I don't think it looks as bad as it could have done, from looking at the original photo's Dave had posted it was a lot wider and there wasn't any real form to it.
Anyway it's been done now and I for one will wait to see how it rides out in June. |

I'm reserving judgement until I see the finished track and the cars/bikes run on it.

The curve seems to be a lot longer than I first thought. There also appears to be a hint of banking. This should ensure that the speeds could be about the same as the old straight, bearing in mind the cars are now quite slow though the Dunlop bridge. I'm sure overall lap times will be slightly higher unless the curve gives a better entry to the esses.
The only thing I think I will miss will be the pine tree's, good for shelter from the rain. It might be interesting to see if the funfair stays where it was. The first part of the curve the drivers might be facing all the flashing neon lights at night. Compared with camera flashlight the funfair will be a massive distraction. Perhaps Madamme Fifi will have to keep her clothes on this year to avoid distracting the drivers SL |

I just saw the pictures and if they took out the esses before the bridge, it wouldn't be so bad, but like this it is it's just zig zag zig zag zig zag zig zag......

Agreed re: the trees. I also think it's part of the Le Mans "feel". And after the start of the race until sunset the trees are where the local girls sit, God bless 'em. I hope the funfair isn't moved much away from the racing action. I like the atmosphere at Le Mans. It's more than a motor race. |

Exactly.
Did you click the button twice? I nearly did as this is running a little slow on my machine today. Maybe some leaves in the 10 Tenths server's pipe. My point was that I don't want any changes that are going to affect the fun, the atmosphere, the general (friendly) misbehaviour, etc that makes Le Mans the event it is. It's a bit special, and to people like me it is not only a race, but also a holiday. More so if you get perfect sunshine all week like in 2000 though! |

Paul,
Till you have been there it is hard to describe. Perhaps a funfair, in a strange country, race cars at night, again almost unknown feeling all added together makes it what it is. Plus the hordes of Brits that invade every year add to the scene. Mme Fifi might or might not be the owner of a reveue bar where ladies remove all of their clothes at the request of a few Gentlemen, none of whom will be present here of course. Mme Erta maybe the owner of a similar bar frequented by Gents with more cash. I'm sure Aysedasi will expand further (forgive the pun). They do have neon lit stages with the girls backlit. Imagine driving though Dunlop only to see a naked young lady in backlight across the track....... Go from there. SL |

If anyone sees fit to define "wet" I'm leaving. The smuttiness of some of our friends here knows no bounds.
BTW, are you going to Le Mans this year Paul? |

Having just looked at the pics, I think it looks very good. It should make for some good racing.

It rained more than any race i can remember since 1970. Maybe 1995 was as bad, but I only a short video of that one and it looked pretty miserable. |
