[VASC18R07R08] Tyrepower Tasmania SuperSprint, Symmons Plains Raceway, 6-8 April
The Supercars follow the map to go down under to the island state of Tasmania for the Tyrepower Tasmania SuperSprint, the third event (or round, but then again consistency has never really been a strong suit for Supercars but then again, neither has been when I make something that is viscous)
Two sprint races around the short but very quick track where good power down to get out of the infamous hairpin onto the back straight is key. (A rare time where the Supercars use the whole range of forward gears of 1st to 6th) Will the current Holden Racing Team that is Triple Eight/Red Bull get to the top step or will the former Holden Racing Team that is Walkinshaw-Andretti-United/Mobil 1 Boost Mobile continue their rather respectable rise back to prominence? Could DJR Team Penske throw a spanner in the Holden fest? (until if rumours are true and the team that has been loyal to the Blue Oval become part of the silver *ahem* Red Lion) Hopefully this year the boys and girls play clean so we don't get a repeat of the Saturday demolition derby which caused cars to be extensively repaired, a few write offs and a couple of drivers injured but for good TV and highlights, just add water. *Check local guides for broadcast times Last edited by Razor; 30 Mar 2018 at 12:23. |

Indeed ! P11 was a pretty stout effort when times are that tight.

FB suggesting Erebus have taken the holden badge of the front and put the Erebus symbol there
partially due to a lack of spare parts |

The shut down of comments on the Supercar website just migrated a pack of ********s over to Speedcafe which wasnt a bastion of intelligence to begin with but has since degenerated into a complete circus. The only highlight being when people call out drivers and said driver comes on and sets them straight. Always good for a laugh

Somewhat similar to when Triple Eight replaced the Ford badge with a Hogs Breath badge on their FG Falcons back in '09 as a protest to Ford cutting funding from the team.

So will the new Qualifying format for this weekend influence the Grid Positions and the eventual result? Will WAU continue their upward trend or will it prove another false alarm? Will other rookies shine or will ADP continue to be the standout as part of the Erebus current form line? Can TR challenge the might of 888 and DJRTP and score a podium or even a win?

The Gold Coast may have the Commonwealth Games and all the associated freeloaders, would be could be’s plus the usual b grade celebrities.
The Apple Isle has got round 3 of the Supercars, as always at Symmons Plains we got a mix of weather, Friday and Saturday look fine but rain on Sunday. A T888 whitewash, or go well go Shell Penske to rule, or will Betty’s boy Davey sneak a win? Go the dashing damsel in the Datsun! |

Maybe the talk of taking the cash elsewhere is focusing some attention to the 78

ECU issue and change in the first session of qualifying for the dashing damsel in the Datsun.
The afternoon session saw car 78 punch out some very good times. |
