Brands Hatch Race
Just thought I'd start it now without the race winners name in it! No Sky so I have to wait until next week to see the race! Still well done MG (hopefully)

Plato & George out in startline shunt, Plato's car written off, the high's & low's of motor racing. Unless he has a spare car Plato is spectator for the rest of the day.

Neil win race 1, Huff 2nd, Chilton 3rd Thompson, Muller, Turkington.
Cheeky last lap, last corner move by Chilton on Thompson!! Big start line crunch, I think Plato got nudged from behind |

Shame about Bentwood not being able to take the start.
Good race from Huff, Neal and I guess Chilton - arrogant git as he is (post race interview). Good luck Hines in race two on the front row. Collard's on pole as he finished 10th in race one. Also hoping for a good race from Eaves, and Watson-Smith, who was running competitive against Turkinton's MG near the end...still got Reid storming from the back to look forward to. Plato & George are out for the weekend. |

Race two then (spoilers obviously):
Hines wins - holds on for lead, but behind - wow! Excellent driving by by Watson-Smith, Huff & Reid (in places) - the exception being when Reid punted Shaun into the gravel at Paddock Hill for 4th. But the Huff & Reid battle was amazing - as was the Collard fight until he was hit with his own bootlid. Eaves did well to finish where he did considering the awful start - A wonderful interruption to the Bore-mula One Grand Prix. Five different winners in five races (I make that statement now, as it's likely to be broken in round six unfortunately). Anyway, three Vauxhall's bunched together at the start of the next race then - should be smashing! |

Race 2 and a VX 1-2-3 but it was Hines from Thompson and Muller. That makes it 5 different winners in 5 races!!
Reid stormed from the back to take 4th ahead of Turkey and Chilton, who seemed slow with the ballast. SWS posted fastest lap and set off after the VXs when Reid hit him into the Paddock Hill gravel so he retired! Matt Neal didn't start due to starter motor problems (same as Bentwood in race 1)!! Plato/Bentwood/Georges cars all not repaired in time for race 2. Slight possibility of JP/MB starting race 3 though. Carl Breeze has no more engines so his day is done!! |

Sorry hazard - was writing that at the same time as you!! Hope MG can take the fight to VX in race 3 - Reid had fastest lap in both races so far!

Nope - pretty poor innit! I gave up trying to find out what was happening several hours ago and will just read the report on on the various BTCC websites when they publish them now.

The Edenbridge BMW was in the middle of a sandwich between Plato and Collard, the only good view was from behind so it's hard to judge where they all were, but basically the BMW was the car that turned the SEAT around.
John George got caught up in it and run into the back of the Beemer I think, then fired off into the barriers himself. |

As for race 3, it finished Thommo, Reid, Muller, Huff. Huff caught up with Muller towards the end and had a great battle, never enough to get by though.

Justin Keen got squeezed between JP and Collard, which resulted in JP being spun across the front of the BMW and into the barrier.

Its a shame that it often happens in the BTCC, someone gets squeezed and spun. Can't wait to see the race!

It's great that Seat, Honda & MG are able to take the fight directly to Vauxhall.
Even though clearly Muller & Thompson are going to be fighting each other for this one again - it's going to be nothing like 2001 when Vauxhall won 25/26 races (not just cos the number of races has changed) - with Seat, Honda & MG all running very race win capable cars. To make the championship better: Get another Arena car out there, and Seat expand to three and have a real go - pull over Rydell from ETCC or something, he's wasting his time over there with all those Alfa's creaming everybody. |

As with Thruxton, we've seem some amazing pace from Shaun Watson-Smith and Michael Bentwood. Sadly, neither of them got to show-off their true form.
