finals from MST timing
FF Kent - 2DQs
FF Duratec - 3 DQs
Is it you can't be classified as finishers on countback if you were not running when the red flag came out?

A superb Day

The kent race was ruined by a bloody stupid move from Peter dempsey [Again] if only he could have heard what the crowd was saying at the bottom of paddock!!!!

Just like last year the red mist appears the word overtake is suppose to mean you around someone not over them i really hope he was punished that was not a racing incident

A balanced view if ever I heard one....I assume if you were at the botom of Paddock to hear the comments, you couldn't possibly have been at Druids to see what went on....?

From the video that has been posted up to me it looks like Wayne ran wide at paddock and Peter got a great run out of paddock . He had the speed to go by him and wayne drove accross in front of him leaving Peter with nowhere to go . Just my two pennys worth anyway .

Whut?
If that's Antoine's video shot from the exit of Druid's, looking at an acident that happened on the run into Druids.
I was within 20 feet of what happened, wearing a bright orange suit and still have trouble recognising myself on the vid.
How the heck you can apportion blame for the incident then is completely beyond me.

Go to DWA's home page and look at the pictures in his FF1600 gallery. (124 onwards ) I was within 6ft of DWA.

I've looked at DWA's pics.....to me it looks like Peter touched the right rear of Waynes car with his left front, and was launched airborne....after that Pete was just a passenger.....such a shame.....

I do know that a linkage had broken at the rear of Peters car before the incident, hence the drop off in his lap times that allowed Wayne to close back up. Just a few laps before Pete had a healthy lead, and I thought for sure it was in the bag for him

There were two cars outside the Ford hospitality unit. One was the car which Damon Hill tested in Motorsport News, I think.

From my vantage point it looked as if Peter tried to come from some quite distance back having lost the lead at the previous corner. He would have been more well advised to be more conservative in his approach to recovering the lead as there there were plenty of laps remaining.

kartingdad - from what I saw there wasn't a price on the poster, just a number to call for more info - just said you needed your ARDS I think.

Agree, not sure where you were Ian but I was stood at Druids, by the #56 [Galpin's] car so had a pretty reasonable view point. Boyd was pretty upset afterwards.

It was a good race til then, shame for it to end on a red flag.

Boyd had every right to be upset as he showed there is a fair way of overtaking someone!!!

Couldn't see the crash clearly but Boyd's move on Peter was I am coming through or we are have a crash so may be Peter felt he could do the same thing? Peter had given him room everytime at Paddock including when Boyd overtook with two wheels on the grass.

Shame it spoilt the best festival final in years, shame Gavin Ed Matt Stuart etc weren't out too.

I'm not sure how 'final' the Duratec results are as yet - from what I gather, for the second year in a row the trophy presentation didn't take place in the Kentagon (although I headed for home after waiting a while).

Nick Tandy was awarded the trophy in the Kentagon after some waiting/discussions I believe.

With regard to Peter Dempsey crash it happened right in front of me, not sure of the official view, but opinions did differ amongst the various parties who saw it "up close" so to speak.

A "sampler day" for possible new drivers was announced. This will be at Silverstone on December 5th. apparently it is an "opportunity to get behind the wheel of a current Duratec Formula Ford".

Kartingdad,

If it was the same as last year it was upto each driver to contact each team and pay a fee for a session. Prices ranged last year from £200 to £400 a session of 20 minutes (I think). It is upto you to book as many sessions as you want with any car types or teams you want to try.

It worked really well last year even though the weather was dreadfull!!! I think we were the only team to go home with both cars in one piece!!!

Jez on track it was MacLeod Tandy Linton but Tandy ran into Macleod after safety car pulled in but before start line as Macleod slowed....guessing if it has been award to Tandy Macleod must have been judge to have braked?? OR one of them was squeezed onto the grass on Brabham straight impossible to see clearly as low sun in my eyes so won't say who I think was to blame.

Plenty of time to re start the Duratec final too....

Good result for Getum and Linton after poor Jason first broke a drive shaft in the semi then collected a spinner in the last chance.

I "met" Jason yesterday as I was marshalling at paddock and assisted him after he landed in the gravel trap, from what he said then he hadn't had the best of weekends but he was very calm about the whole thing even though he must have been very frustrated!

In fact I got to "meet" quite a few drivers yesterday and they all remained very good natured despite how some of them arrived at our feet!

I had a really great day and I congratulate all the drivers, it was a shame that the finals ended as they did but with a driver requiring medical assistance the correct action was taken.
