Silverstone 'Classic' Festival 09 - The Event
I note that the other lot are having a bit of a get together at Silverstone.
Should we at Ten Tenths be thinking of the same thing? Last edited by John Turner; 11 Aug 2009 at 06:55. |

To get this back on track to JR's original post, I'm happy to bring some (well, OK a couple of cases of) beer along to this. For that reason, Saturday early evening seems the best bet, before the concert?
Anyone else for a BBQ? Suggest that if we do get asked to pay another £80 for concert tickets, that instead it might be better if Delta parks his awning/truck as close as possible to the stage, and we use the concert as background music! J |

Race day spectator ticket prices are now on the Classic site
Last year a 3 day pass bought before the end of March was £40, before the end of June £55 and on the day were , I believe £25, £30 and £30. A 3 day pass for 2009, bought any time in advance, is £79. Crazy. |

Are the concerts (Santana & Razorlight) part of the festival or not? from the website it looks as if there is an extra charge for the concerts. Will competitors (and marshals) be admitted free of charge?

Having looked at the website again, it seem that Razorlight are now "missing".

On a posative note just to prove i am not a snob.! chap came in to service the workshop fire extinguishers today and said that the Classic is the best weekends racing he had been to.After last year he joined the Silverstone spectators club and has since been to many race meetings. If Razorlight arnt there maybee they could get the girls that played the violins back again.

OK, I am sorry I called you a snob.
I get very irritated when racers disregard the opinions of spectators. It is a common theme particularly amongst historic racers. Back on topic, I won't be troubling the classic this year, ticket prices are far too high, and no concessions for children. Have a great weekend! |

Is anyone else really gobsmacked by the extortionate ticket prices charged for this years' festival?
Three day ticket costs £79 (last year £55) plus booking fee plust p&p makes a total of £169.48!! I was greatly looking forward to the weekend, but I can't justify an extra £50 on tickets. It seems really shortsighted of the organisers to up the fee by almost 50%. Anyone else agree? |
