Masters Historic Festival Brands Hatch 23 - 25 May 2009

Another one but at least we know the track has a license so this'll be a walk in the park for the Masters team. Saturday is on the Indy circuit and Sunday/Monday on the GP.

Again I can't make it but (quiet at the back there) I know a few of our posters are going to be there. However pics and reports would be nice too.

Will be there all weekend, cheering on a couple of drivers in the Morgan race saturday then tasting the GP circuit for first time sunday and monday. Havn't raced on either but did get a few laps of Indy 3 weeks ago. I'll need some tips on taking Paddock, Terence!

Question- If I was pulling 8800rpm in top at Donington last w/end will it be more or less on Brands GP? (If 'more' need to change the axle!)

Hope to meet some more tenthers over the 3 days, and hopefully with decent weather, please!

Mike,

We will have the batmobiles out in the same race and hopefully we may even make it past the warming up lap this time! I will be in the silver and orange Schnitzer car and my mate Georg in the green Gosser Beer car.

My guess is that Brands GP needs a slightly longer diff than Donington. Neither straight at Donington is particularly long and the straight out the back of Brands seems longer and has a down-hill section before the braking area that may rev the engine a little higher.

Look forward to meeting you. Come and say hi in the paddock.

You always misbehave - it just depends how badly......and don't forget your licence this time, otherwise I'll just gaze out of the window and say "Know him? Never seen him before in my life"

Thaks Ian. May change anyway to help engine longevity, and take other in case totally wrong. Give me something to do after practice!

Any entries news for this event yet??

I see the latest versions of the timetables include the amalgamation of the GP Masters with the Post 78 cars for Sun/Mon, and the amalgamation of Cloth Cap with XKs for the Sat.

That's most important and could avoid difficult questions at the driver's briefing! .........providing you are very discreet or make it obvious that it's not a bribe .

Don't forget your licence!

Hi all, my first post here (although I've been quite an avid reader for a while!) I'm planning on camping for the masters festival on the sunday, I've never camped at Brands before. I was just wondering if you have to book and whether it's easy to locate. Plus what it costs per night.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Welcome ads274. When you say camping are you saying "tent". Its no prob we stay in the trucks, rickety motor homes ans tents at all the tracks.Easier if you send me a PM with a phone no and i will talk you through it.I will be at Brands from Friday dinnertime.

Thanks delta. As it turns out i'm going along with someone now and we've booked a hotel, thanks for the intentions though.

Entry list looks great, I remember last year it was extremely wet on the monday and a lot of cars didn't run, which is understandable. I've not been to many historic meetings so I'm wondering whether that's normally the case even in light rain or whether it's just in monsoon weather?

Edit: Also which cars will be in the pit garages (I assume gp masters?) and will there be an opportunity to do a pitwalk?

Thanks.
