Phillip Island Classic 2010
It's that time of year when I get excited again, we're off to the island in a few weeks time...YEEEEHAAAH
About 37 entries in Group A and C Touring cars at present which will be the biggest grid I've seen there for a long time. In spite of the Lakeside Raceway meeting being on on the same weekend. Not sure about numbers in the other categories numbers. Although I'd obviously like to repeat last year's results I'll be happy with a top ten outright. There will be 2 Godzillas this year. Cheers David Only 16 more sleeps till I set off. |

15 sleeps for me (I'm a uni student, all nighters are my specialty )
Grp A&C sounds good David Does anyone know what the 'headline act' will be this year? Last year it was the Sauber Mercedes, that didn't get anywhere near enough track time due to the weather Speaking of which, can whoever brought last year's with them, please stay at home this year? I promise I will take lots of photos for you... I can't wait for this race meeting though, it will probably be my only visit to the Island this year, so I'm hoping it will be special. |

Can't wait for this one... 580+ entries, Alfa is the featured marque and Kevin Bartlett is the patron of the meeting.
Groups A & C, Group N, F5000, non-production Sports Cars, Group R, all fantastic to see at the Island with big fields. It's kind of shame that it's on the week before the GP, because it makes that meeting soooo bloody boring... |

Hasn't it always been scheduled for the week before to try and capitalise on the GP?

and the drivers are nicer to talk to, have a better sense of humour, are better looking and are much more modest as you can tell.
Two weeks to go and I don't have an engine at all. Problem with the new one and the old one is in bits for a head gasket replacement, here's hoping. |

Not only that you can actually have a proper conversation and look at the pits proparly. I cant wait it keeps getting better and better apart from the weather.

That does it! I'm never going to have an affair, no matter where I go someone sees me. No, I was actually on my way home from Lithgow Gaol. Just a days work inside, not picking a room for the future or anything. I'm going to Bathurst next weekend to do a dozen or so laps at road legal speed as research for the Easter meeting having never raced there.

34 Formula 5000s on their way and about 7 ex F1 cars, Should be great. BTW we'll have the first story from Hampton Downs on In Pit Lane next Tuesday and for Aussie fans it's a real eye opener.
Hopefully the VHRR can bring this meeting off even half as well as their Kiwi counterparts. At their first attempt the NZ Festival of Motor Racing already is a must see on the International Historic calendar. The level of professionalism was light years ahead of PI with a properly run media centre with full Internet access both wired and wi-fi, timing monitors, regular event updates and fantastic food. The media contingent (many from Aussie, but some from England as well) were made to feel most welcome. We are hoping to get at least one camera to PI but at this stage it's not looking good, but I do know the NZ TV contingent will be there to cover their guys in the F5000s. |

I had a look at the entry list for the meeting and either I am not looking hard enough or I cant find any of the big banger sports cars. No Porsche 956/962s no 935s no Suaber Mercades. Does anybody know why?
