Egg 2013 Formula 1 Predictions - Time Capsule

Thought it would be fun if we got one of these started lads, what do you reckon? Make 5 or so predictions for the year ahead, we'll bury it until November and see how wrong we were at the end of the season. Here goes!

  1. Sebastien Vettel will win a 4th consecutive WDC.
  2. Lewis Hamilton will finish 5th or lower in the WDC.
  3. Lotus will win at least 2 races.
  4. Jenson Button will finish in the Top 3.
  5. There will be at least 2 mid-season driver changes.

i think i was right on 3 of them due to Kimi injured back for the change of driver, was very wrong with the Vettel one, right with no new winners and also right with the Hamilton one, there was no pile ups that i saw in this year F1

1. Alonso will sneak the title, but it'll take him to Brazil.
2. The team to beat will be Mclaren at the start of the season, RB mid season with Ferrari finishing strong.
3. Perez will win a race.
4. Webber will announce his retirement near the end of the season, triggering a big driver shake up.

And I'm going to go right out on a limb, and bet really big...

5. Williams will have an appaualing season, Sir Frank will announce the sale of the F1 side of Williams.

Two correct, one within a tyre failure of being correct, one not far off and a hopelessly wrong champion prediction.

Ahead of the game with the Perez prediction, but that's me!

I wouldn't have thought the Perez prediction (Yes I am defending the boy)would have been likely until McLaren built a dork of a car. If the car had been as good as a Red Bull he would have had his podiums, I am sure of it.

Still its all just crystal ball gazing.

1. Vettel will be champion. No big fight with Alonso this time though, despite a decent Ferrari.
2. Grosjean will win at least one race
3. Perez will win at least one race
3. Hamilton will struggle and yes, 5th or lower in points. Perhaps a single race win in unusual circumstances.
4. Driver changes before the year is out? You bet. Bianchi replaces Sutil. Gutierrez out.
5. Webber and Massa sign up for another year with RB/Ferrari (but both will be replaced in 2015).
6. Toro Rosso struggle to get rid of one of their drivers to make way for Felix Da Costa, the 2013 WSR champ.

3. Perez to be McLaren's main challenger for the title and at least 2 wins.
4. Massa's form to be much better, possibly one win but a lot more points to back Fonz up.
5. Bottas to beat Maldonando on points.
6. Grosjean to be 'safer'
7. 7 Different winners....

1 - no no no. not even close.

2 - Yes.

3 - Nope - although this was possible in Brazil until the stewards intervened.

4 - 1 freak race saw me proved wrong, I'm pleased to say.

5 - He seemed better behaved this year, despuite what must have been a frustrating experience of driving such a bad car.

With Perez as his team-mate, I think Jenson will have his best shot at a second driver's title, as long as the reliability issues are resolved. So, Button for WDC and Ferrari for the constructors championship. In 2014, Ferrari will be untouchable (in a good way)!
