Michael Schumacher hurt in skiing accident.
Hearing of reports suggesting Schumacher has been hospitalised with serious head trauma injuries as a result of a skiing accident in France.

Michael Schumacher injured in skiing accident in France

Seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher has been injured in a skiing accident in France.
The German, who retired from Formula 1 for the second time at the end of the 2012 season, has been taken by helicopter to hospital in Grenoble.

I'm so sorry for using the word "serious" in the thread title. Almost all of the news being reported at the time of his accident said it was a "serious" injury, with only a small percentage saying that it was not "serious". Forgive me for my irresponsible reporting, and choosing to go with the majority, and for using the word "serious".

To be fair it was serious. It was a strange case of the uncertainty early on actually down playing the situation

Nothing new from the press conference, other than Schumi being placed in an artificial koma (As opposed to falling into a koma by himself) and suffering brain damage. Let's hope that the doctors are now in control of things.

just watched the press conference on the BBC, still looks VERY serious. He is getting the best care possible and you will not find a fitter person so if anyone can survive this he has the best chance. They are talking about hour by hour at the moment which is not good!

Some reports saying it's very serious. Some suggesting he retained consciousness, and that his injuries are not very serious.

They were saying on 5Live he was wearing a helmet and it is not that serious.

Conflicting reports everywhere, but the feeling seems to be towards the good side of things. Let us hope so.
