2017 Formula 1 time capsule.
Only 6 days to go and it's about time I'd say. So get in quick with your predictions for 2017. Thread will be locked prior to the start of FP1 in Australia, and will reopen after season's end. Let's have a minimum of 5, and a maximum of 10 quantifiable predictions for the season.

Agreed, he's great for F1 and seems to be flying under the radar now...it's all about Max at RB, Hamilton failed to name him recently as a challenger and Autosport had him surprisingly far down the top 50 drivers list.
Everything a Honey Badger needs to prove them wrong! |

1. Hamilton wins the WDC...
2. ...but Vettel puts up a bigger fight than expected to finish 2nd. 3. Bottas wins a race but only finishes 5th in the championship. 4. Raikkonen brings out the sisu, winning a race. Or two. 5. Stroll fails to finish half of the races, mainly due to crashes. 6. Verstappen wins two races and outscores Ricciardo over the season. 7. Ricciardo wins at Monaco, though. 8. There will be a couple of rainy races and the new wet race procedures will turn into a mess. 9. Ericsson will outperform Wehrlein, but only just. Bias? Of course. ...and the usual: 10. Someone will flip his car. Bonus: 11. McLaren will have a torrid, torrid season, resulting in Alonso finally giving up and joining Haas for 2018. |

1. Vettell wins the WDC
2. Alonso/McLaren will implode by seasons end 3. Bottas maiden win followed by more when Lewis has bad luck 4. Palmer will outscore Hulkenberg 5. Kimi will struggle and not win a race 6. Massa re-announces his retirement 7. Verstappen crashes at turn one at least once 8. Verstappen dominates DOTR votes 9. Stoffel will occassionally beat Alonso come 2nd half 10. Hulk also retires after tiring of fighting with Sauber and Haas at the rear. Goes to WEC instead. Bonus 11. Silly season will be dominated by speculation of losing Hulk, Massa, Alonso and Kimi to retirements - 4 of the big 2000s (pre-Merc domination) names. But Kimi and Alonso end up staying. |

2. Correct 3. Mostly incorrect (he won 3 races and ended up 3rd in points) 4. Fail 5. Fail again 6. Half correct; he did win 2 races but ended up just behind Ricciardo in the points 7. Nope, another fail 8. Fail 9. It was pretty close but ultimately another fail (although Ericsson would've scored in Baku if not ordered to move aside - which people tend to forget) 10. Semi-fail as Wehrlein's crash in Monaco only counts as a half-flip 11. Semi-fail again 2/11. Oh well, better luck next year I guess. |
