Kiwi Domination of VASC
After the Winton round today, THREE of the top FOUR in the Championship are Kiwis.
How did this happen? |

Perhaps it's because NZ has not really had a sustainable tin-top series?

But only 3 of the top ten are kiwis - not much domination there. LOL - stats can be used all kinds of ways.
Good on the drivers concerned - they're talented & along with their talented teams (motor sport of course being a team sport of which the driver is but one part) deserve the good results |

Per capita wise NZ drivers have always punched above their weight in Supercar racing.
There is no doubt that each of Fabian Coulthard, Scotty Mac and SVG are all exceptional talents. |

A Pom in a French-designed, American-majority owned car engineered by an Aussie, prepped so nothing falls off by mostly Aussies... Do we need one of those labels like they put on food now to determine ethnicity of team? |

I had wondered myself at what age he moved to NZ. I suspect he spent most of his childhood there.
As of here he lists himself as a proud Kiwi: http://www.fabiancoulthard.com/about/ He does however have dual citizenship apparently. |

Probably on Centrelink benefits as well!
Could be worse though, imagine a bloody Pom winning races and leading the championship! |

After Darwin, of the 11 races, Kiwis have won 10 and Aussies only 1.

Mind you, as pointed out earlier in this thread, motorsport is a team sport and the drives are but one part of each team. Plenty of good quality Kiwis down the length of pit lane but ultimately, the teams that the leading Kiwis drive for, whilst predominantly Australian, are also multinational in terms of personnel. |

Not a bad weekend for Kiwi's in sport.
Both races at Hidden Valley, 2 drivers in the winning Le Mans car and a clean sweep of the first 4 races in the Americas Cup. Sent from my SM-G900I using Tapatalk |

By NZTCC i was including all the other names that have effectively been it over the years (NZV8, NZSuperTourer, Benson & Hedges Series, Simpson Series, Castrol GTX Series, NZTCC etc etc)
Kinda like the ATCC has just rolled into the Supercar Series |
