2004 season facts and rumors.
I have decided to start this thread as a few people were disapointed at the closing of the last thread. Now if everyone can be civil towards each other the thread will stay open. Please keep in mind the livelyhood of the teams and drivers if you wish to post some information about a certian team or driver.
Thanks mtpanorama |

Any word on Steve Ellery's sponsorship? - Steve himself was saying it should be all wrapped up this week......
(Thanks for restarting the thread mtpanorama, hopefully will last a bit longer than the last one!) |

Thanks mtpanorama for reopening the thread
So lets start again with the 2004 Supercar starting lineup. perhaps a little more serious this time Blue DJR 2 Brabham/Johnson FPR 3 Besnard/Seton/Noske SBR 4 Ambrose/Ingall/Winterbottom/Lowndes BJR 3 Jones/Bowe/Fernandez LMS 2 Larkham/Bargwanna 888 2 Radisich/Rydell SER 1 Ellery TMR 1 Thexton Total.... 18 Red SHRT 2 Skaife/Kelly KKRT 2 Murphy/Kelly PWR 2 Weel/Bright DYN 2 Richards/Wills GRM 2 Tander/Pretty CPR 3 Richards/Longhurst/Mezera PMM 2 Morris/Faulkner LRT 1 McConville TKR 1 Baird Total.... 17 Other fun: - Toll Racing off to run Nations Cup in a Porsche, franchise to BJR - Romano Racing finally retired, absorbed into PMM - PMM upgrades 2 L2s into a L1 - IMS & PWR L2's absorbed into SBR - Noske still running 1/2 the LRT L1 franchise but running an FPR car Lets not forget this is a fantasy and should not be taken and gospel-type-fact.... (somthing I thought would have been obvious but there you go) |

If you were promised a proper prodrive car at the start of the year, and were given a tarted up first-gen ex-GSR version, with engines as old as 3 years in spec, would you be a happy camper??

I suppose that Neil Crompton is not driving next year? Was he interested in a Sandown/Bathurst drive for this year, or were there no offers forthcoming for him?

Patient would not be my description... he has nowhere else to go at present, but expect the same kinda junk as last year with the Forbes nightmare

As I know it to be true, prodrive will leave the series at the end of 2004, and provide their franchise and Ford funding to SBR to run the 4 cars mentioned.

Dumbrell never made it through this particular development path, more to his detriment... straight to FH then Konica was his path, which in some ways he is paying the price now.
Whincup isnt performing either, and has torn up some equipment this season in overuse and crash damage. His boss keeps saying positive things, which often is the kiss of death.... If Dumbrell wanted to, his future could lay in Nations Cup. Whincup isnt a SORF, so if he loses the Valvoline gig, it could be all over |

They would not be investing this much money for the short haul, and I find it hard to believe that Lowndes would have come on board for "another" short duration stint. Me thinks that True Believer is making this up!!!, but thats OK coz it is just a bit of fun, ISN'T IT!!! Last edited by Allan Moffatt; 2 Oct 2003 at 08:10. |

Well SBR could always relocate to Broadmeadows, to get closer to the source...

TNR is also not linked to either SBR or FPR in 2004, the team is currently within days of signing a new naming rights sponsor and will continue with it's current format.

Ellery wil not race at DJR next season. The decision was made today and It wasnt Ellery. Whether they have kept Max or not is another story. Very dissapointing, He would have been good for the team. I hope DJR can get there act together and find an experienced driver for next year. This puts end to Seton_5`s prediction.
