Question about transport in Bathurst
Myself and a couple of friends have been offered a free flight to Bathurst and back on the Sunday of the 1000, can anyone tell me what sort of transport there is available to/from the airport to the circuit at that time (around 8:30am arrival ~ 6pm departure).
Thanks. |

Taxi, would be your best bet, I am sure you could book one to meet the plane, they would like the full fare insead of the short trips out to the track that no doubt bug them, on the way home, I would get the drivers mobile number and deal direct

I'd suggest pre-book a local taxi. The airport to the track is about 8 - 10 km.

The line to the gates at 8:30 + will be huuuuuge...
Get out at the end of the queue and walk. Take backpacks for your gear, and remember to have a stubby holder [and contents] handy for the wait at the gates :-) Then be prepared to have bugger all choice of where to sit / stand (forget chairs as the good spots will already be filled) Have Fun ! David. |

I normally have a renter(car) waiting and offer other passengers on my flight a trip to the circuit for 10 bucks, that pays for the renter(car ). I'm a tight bugger

If I was in Melbourne and was offered a free flight to the joint, Id crawl on my hands and knees if required to get to the track!! (I dont think youll have to do that though )
Careful who you ask for a lift, the popular responce at this time of year is "You've got balls, ROLL" Maybe offer to get a multicab for yourself and the nice person who is shouting the flight! |

Leaqving the circuit after the race and attempting to drive out on the highway to the airport It would be quicker to walk.
