Points system
Any ideas what this is likely to be? Same as F1? And when do you reckon we are we likely to get an announcement?

The A1GP points system was shown on the old A1GP website. The points system for the A1GP 2005/2006 season will be as follows: system.
1st=10pts 2nd=9pts 3rd=8pts 4th=7pts 5th=6pts 6th=5pts 7th=4pts 8th=3pts 9th=2pts 10th=1pt I don't like it. They should use the F1 points system. |

I think the points system is largely irrelevant.
This series is about entertainment. That said it'll certainly keep things tight! |

I remember only countries are awarded points and not drivers. There is no such thing as a drivers' championship in A1GP.

I'd have liked a bigger gap between 1st and 2nd... maybe 11-9-8 etc.

One point between places is the best way. At least it will keep the battle for the title running for longer.

I think they should take a different tack. Qualifying should be done in multiples of the square root of minus one and race points worth real numbers.
Then you'd have arguments as to whether 4 + 3i was higher in the table than 3 + 5i. |
