Who here has race director?!
I was wondering who has race director?
I've read in other forums that it's bad. But other places it looks very good. I've looked at all, and it seems very much worth it. Can't beat what it has to offer. Reminds me of F1 Digital, for those that had it. The reason why is that I very much doubt that British Europsort will show the races live, and I'm told we don't get to see the Long Beach race untill Monday. We have race director. We found it useful last season although the coverage should be better next year.
Just listening to Paul's radio was worth the price last year. Hopefully there have been some technical improvements as well. For $30 CDN (the discounted price) it is worth it for this season. |

Question:
I quite often work on Sundays, and am forced to videotape the races. If I were to subscribe to RD, how long does it take before they archive the race? In other words, if I get home at midnight on Sunday, would I be able to sit down and watch the race right away? Also, when they archive the races and you watch them later, are all of the camera views and radio links available? Or do they only archive one main camera and the race commentary? |

I doubt they'll show the whole season live, so if you need it live, race director may be the way you have to go...but don't make any rash decisions. |

I have race director and I enjoyed it immensly last year.
as for archiving the races macdaddy I think its straight away or if not its within a few hours. i know I got home about 2 hours after a race had finished last year and was able to watch it straight away. I think its worth it if you want Live stuff which of course I do |

Thanks, marcus.
If you were to watch an archived race, are the differing camera-views still available? |

I've had it for about a week, it's been fun looking back on some old races (and 5 minute updates on Toyota Atlantics too.....I hope they turn up too this year!)
Whichever way Eurosport go with their showing (and it's by no means definate until the show just before it finishes on time! ) it'll be useful. If they don't show the race, I get to see it live... If they DO show it, I get to put RD on the on-board channel with team radio and enjoy the best of both worlds! |

it's money well spent. heck it's only 25 or 30 bucks, skip dinner one night and you're good for the whole season.

I had it last year and renewed for this one as well. While it is not perfect, buffering seems to be a problem some times, it was pretty damn sweet to watch practice, and, as someone mentioned earlier, to hear Tracy's potty mouth!

I would get it but they only acept credit cards and I don't have one. I really want it because in Australia on channel 10 they show it aroung 11:30PM on Monday or Very early Tuesday Morning. They could put it on earlyer than that considereng there is nothing but crap on free tv.

But even if I got it I would have to wake up at about 4:00AM because of the time difference

They have added telemetry as well for this year, which is kind of neat.
It will be good to get the onboard cameras, pit radio and telemetry all going at the same time. That in conjunction with a big screen and surround sound and I will have reached Nirvana! |

Marcus, all the views other than the broadcast view stream fine, probably cause everybody is trying to watch it...
