2019 GTE thread
Entries are out now. We know the field. I think its just to post a thread now. Time to chat about it.
35 GTLM/GTE cars at the 2019 race. The most ever. The first 3 hours of the 2018 was epic and the TV coverage justly gave it lots of screen time. Of course we know that the 4th hour safety car ruined a lot of the spectacle afterwards. Hopefully 2019 will be the same without the controversy. |

I always found it odd why the Risi Ferrari never had car #62 at Le Mans. Give Scuderia #63 and Risi the #62. A little late for that now I guess. I guess Risi's drivers will be 100% different since the Daytona driver squad was all AF Corse's roster.

Just my own speculation, but I am starting to think its not out of the question that the #93 and #94 Porsche's will come to Le Mans with the Brumos livery soon. A mention during the Sebring race where it was said that they did not anticipate losing that livery anytime soon.

Does anyone know how many times the Brumos colours graced Le Mans? 1977 I believe is one year they came. Were there more?
I'd be all for it - managed to pick up a superb Brumos t-shirt at Sebring with the new livery on the back. |

But I think it's been the only one. I'm certain that Porsche have already ask for a Martini livery, but I think it will be difficult to get a special permission. Unless they don't write "Martini" on the cars, like they did with R.othmans. |

https://sportscar365.com/lemans/wec/...irmed-at-risi/ Ok folks over or under Does Risi beat the AF Corse cars in the race and/or qualifying? I like their chances. Last edited by PascaLM; 5 Apr 2019 at 18:58. Reason: link completion |

From S365 Mid Ohio notebook:
***The No. 66 Chip Ganassi Racing Ford GT has reverted to its 2016 Le Mans-winning livery this weekend ahead of next month’s endurance classic. The team’s No. 67 Ford, meanwhile, has remained with the same dark blue color, introduced in 2018, in anticipation for a completely different design for Le Mans. ***Sportscar365 believes that all four Fords will run with previous Le Mans race-winning liveries in the race, in what will be the manufacturer’s swan-song in GTE-Pro from an official factory team capacity. Wow. Its time to look at back at the liveries of the 1966-1969 Ford GT's now. I think they are going with this along with. The 2016 livery on the (IMSA #66, #WEC 68) car. Interesting idea. I still am in the minority and prefer 4 identical traditional livery cars myself though. Maybe Porsche will stick with theirs for all 4 this time. Ford is my early pick to win GTE Pro at Le Mans this year. I can't see it being anything else other than a Ford vs Porsche battle for the win. |

BMW seem to be confident for Le Man, especially after winning Daytona. They think the track suits their big car well.

More importantly, who's turn is it according to BoP? I think looking at the last few years it's probably going to be Corvette.

Ford. Last year of the program, 4 historic liveries, and look at their spa pace. Ford, playing the game, again.

Which Porsche do you think will be the highest finisher at Le Mans this year? This one is a tough one. Even the #94 car has a great line up with some young hotshoe drivers. Still I'll go with the #92 still I suppose. I'm probably in the minority in hoping they go with 4 identical traditional white/red/black liveries.

For the Ford liveries I am guessing it will be like this:
#66 = black car 1966 #67 = red car 1967 #68 = 2016 winner #69 = gulf 1968/1969 |

I can't wait to see which liveries they use. Le Mans is usually the best for seeing retro liveries, especially in the GT Class

Thought I'd play with Paint on Windows for fun and get a rough idea of Ford paint schemes. Doubt it will be like exactly. Again just for fun.
