"The Modern Motor Car"
Someone at work has found a fantastic old book in their attic entitled as above, it comes with a yellow flyer stating it's "With the Compliments of Shell-Mex and B.P. limited" extolling the virtues of 'Double Shell', 'Triple Shell' and 'Aero Shell'.
The back cover is damaged, and we can find no dating evidence, can anyone hazard a guess? There are some absolutely fantastic coloured multi-layer cutaway drawings of a 'vintage' car, make unknown, starting with the outside and eventually working into the heart of the engine. There is even a cutaway drawing showing what a badly maintained engine looks like. It really is a work of art. Any clues would be appreciated. |
