F1 test teams - why don't all teams use them?
I've been looking at some F1 stuff over the weekend and its amazing the workload Ferrari achieve on a weekly basis. They've had Badoer and Burti pounding round all week.
Renault and William's have been out at Silverstone - even BAR have had Davidson out to coax some more speed out of their old donkey. Yet the other teams are all sat on their hands - EJ seriously expects to be challenging for 4th place this year- yet he has no test drivers and no seperate test team. Maybe all teams should look at diverting some budget into seperate test teams - there are plenty of quick young drivers available for testing. I know Ferrari are an exception but if BAR can afford a test team of some sort surely others on the grid can and would surely benefit? |
